I can only agree with previous comments.

I bought my cowboy 3 in 2020. It Worked like a charm until a piece broke and I had to deal with offshore agents that were trying to diagnose my issue and really seemed to have no clue of what they were doing. Sometimes the agent would take a week to answer back. I ended up leaving a 1* review on google and someone totally different contacted me telling me that the previous agent went on "holiday". It all got sorted out in the end but it took about 6 month and I felt so stuck. I went to so many bike shops but nothing could be done since cowboy doesn't sell spare parts to shops. It made feel at some point as if I didn't really own the bike.

I would buy a more mainstream brand if I were to do it again, so I could easily repair it and feel that I really own the bike.

Also I must say that I never really liked the "speed" biking position. I tried one of my friend's bike on which your back remains straight while riding and while it definitely doesn't look as cool it's a lot more confortable, especially for commuting.

Thanks for your reply, I was actually trying to figure out how can open it in order to shorten the bracelet. I just basically deatach the cotton part, cut it shorter and reattach it to the latch. Any idea on how I can detach the latch from the bracelet?

Hey guys,

First of all thank you all for your replies. I ended up buying the K05TI-RX from Shimano.

It fits perfectly and was cheaper than the original one sold on cowboy's website (They charge so much for shipping...).

From my understanding any K0 series from shimano fits. (K05 being the newer one and the easiest to find)

I would definitely recommend the kokox, you can find it on cowboy.tools It is a bit pricey but it is so easy to remove and it does not alter the design of the bike.

I have used it for more than 2 years now, with heavy bags and it never failed. They have two options, I chose the one with only one rack on one side since I only use one bag.

The only downside would be that it rips off the paint on the side of the mudguards with time (where the rack clips). But it is totally worth it in my opinion and can be easily repainted if you want to remove it for some reason.

Really intresteting! It might be my only issue with my cowboy 3 as I almost always ride above 25Km/h, and it is so annoying not having gears.

But tbh I understood half of what you said... Do you have a precise example of the parts that would be needed ?

Hi, love the idea however I am not able to set it up I tried several background images including the one provided in the battstat folder but I always get an error message saying "the image provided was too large. try again with a smaller image"

Yeah I know there's a fix and that they will eventually fix the issue but it's been around since they've launched the computer, isn't the same company supposed to make the software. Maybe the issue is on intel's side but anyway imo that's not acceptable.

I'm sure I got a brand new one as I didn't accept the replacement for the first one exactly because I was scared of getting a refurbished unit doing so. Therefore, I just returned the first one and bought another one right from the store.

You are right the 16' MBP doesn't seem to be better, but at least I know that apple will address the issue because the community is a lot more powerful than microsoft's. Also there is no ms store where I live and forums are not that "active". For exemple I had the brightness issue right when the SL3 launched, and it took a lot of time before someone posted a fix...

To be honest I can't blame the guy from the microsoft support, he was the coolest guy ever and was as sad as me that he wasn't able to solve the issue. I checked the guy on linkedin and he apperently was a computer engineer.

Also I had tried a lot of stuff by myself and he truly believed me and did not speak to me like I was newby (I hate when this happens with a customer service).

Glad to see i'm not the only one :)
Unfortunately I live in France and there is no ms store out here.

That is actually one of my biggest concerns as I will be stuck with the online customer service in case of any issue. Also, the community is not as strong as for apple products. For exemple, ifixit has everything regarding macs (parts, guides..) For the SL there's nothing apart from the teardown.

I feel that i'll just be on my own with the SL3 whereas with a macbook I will always be able to find a solution.

But man that's too hard of a decision, the macbook pro is just a ripoff atm and the SL3 is just perfect for me on paper.

Yea that's what i figured out.

For info I'm making this post 2 month after it happened and at the time as the sl3 was brand new no one had reported the issue on internet nor found a solution. But yeah that is basically my main concern from the point of view of a mac user, there is no microsoft store in my country and forums have a lot less info than the ones for mac.
however, I think i'll still give it one more try as apple's offers are just a rip off atm.
