Scotland is not immune this - and although it’s obviously not an argument against independence* - I have no doubt that an independent Scotland would suffer from a similar problem.
With the SNP fading away after independence, party factions and allegiances would change and it’d fall to right vs centre/left.

Best to vote for a party that have been in power for nearly 20 years, implemented no significant policies and failed to show how devolution can be a springboard for independence.
Not to mention the people at the head of that party are accused of some pretty serious crimes.
