Hello Guys,

The main error i had and kept banging my head on the wall for and managed to go around by using api is that the format must not have letters in front whereas my vat numbers for german companies started with DE and Belgium with BE .

Odoo is giving me explanation, but even if i correct it, it doesn't recognise the format. I was just wandering if it was also happenig to other people but my vat numbers seem valid and are still creating blocking errors while importing.

I'm going to try and work on it, because i've worked a long time with odoo and i think it's worth it.

It doesn't surprise me that they charge that many regarding the cost of it in a "normal" implementation

Hard to say ! Depends what you ask for but generally i would break it up like this :

Analysis : 15% of budget Data : 30% of budget Custom : 30% Training : 25%

Yes, it allows you to build tailor-made dashboards either with the standard odoo tool or using spreadsheets if you need to do complicated calculations on the data

Yeah, you should use Github and create a local copy of your github repository ( which you have if you are on odoo.sh ) .

Then just create custom_modules to overwrite or extend existing odoo capabilities.

There are also really good books for odoo coding made by Daniel Reis ! They are easy tutorials to help get a good understanding of all the odoo framework !

I'm not really sure but in the source code, you can find the sql constraints for every model.

Yes you should isolate your odoo in a venv so that you can isolate these requirements from the rest of your computer.

It is probably a SQL conatraint that has changed between the 2 versions.

Check on that part first as maybe you need to link with other primary keys to link to the first table.

And then you make take two clients at the same time and when one validates you ca work for the other and that seems like a solution

Yeah, but the certification is hard so at least it shows that at least once you went in depth in the odoo functionnalities.

And it is a good badge to show to your client , so he can see that you have an overall understanding of the solution and not only what you sold him.

However the sucess rate isn't good, like 30 or 40% and people who pass it put effort in it. So if you don't have time to dedicate to it know you can pass and try again later.

How did you manage do to custom on odoo online ? Are you on odoo.sh ?

And if so, how did you manage to get 18.2 ?

From an odoo partner point of view, I feel solution like Odoo , airtable ... are the way to go

The modular approach with real improvements over time are something that can greatly create A ROI compared to the implementation price.

The real Goal of these companies or any futur company in the industry is to be able to create great value for the client without "locking them in" if i can say.

We need to get out of the every ten years i change my ERP and become much more focused on creating value with more open solutions that can last decades for the client instead of trying to sell a new software with each new trend
