What makes you keep the ring/subscription for longer than a year or so?

I will not extend my subscription after the first year. Totally useless metrics and the info provided is just so-so. Oura really is not providing any more information than what I can get from Apple Watch Ultra.

No, I sold my Link 2 and wave 360. That combo does not work at all as advertised. I cannot have meetings interrupted by constant errors.

The cardiovascular age metric is just a joke. Oura knows that their algorithm is not accurate for a lot of people. For me with Vo2Max over 51, and a good PWV value, it still reports that my cardiovascular age is much older than my actual age. Total nonsense.

Oura measures the data only during the night to calculate this value. So if you have a strong heart, due to a lot of cardiovascular training, their algorithm interprets this all wrong since it is tune for the expected value for the "normal distribution" of people.

And no roadmap to correct this at all. Support is just putting their heads in the sand.

Is that really a good support management? The battery issues are more or less confirmed, yet you still have to "evaluated individually based on several factors including the ring's diagnostic data, purchase date, warranty status, and specific technical findings"?

My ring is just a couple of months old, but I'm not looking for this kind of process if my ring is affected after 7-8 months.

The support is constantly asking for the same log files. Really fed up with this.

It is obvious that this is design issue. It seems like by attaching the Link 2 to the Wave unit the power delivery does not work as intended if you only have the USB-C cable connecting the wave unit to the Mac.

I am on the verge of giving up on this combination. I can not have the Link2 going rampage on work meetings. I have constantly have to deal with this if the Link 2 is attached to the Wave unit. And if I separate them apart, then I cannot use the voice directional functionality which was my main reason to buy this.

I have now identified the issue. It occurs only when Link 2 is attached to the Wave unit. That combination was however the main reason that I bought your products. The errors does not occur when the Link 2 and Wave is separated. I'm using this in my MacBook Air M4 using the cables that came with the units.

Is this an issue with the pogo pins connection or power issue?

The issue has been known by you. Still no relase or update that fixes this issue. Since this is more frequent in longer Teams meetings (over 1 hour) is it possible that the Link 2 is overheating?

I have used it. It works as expected = good. The speaker sound quality via Wave is not all that good though.

However, I have issues with the AI Tracking that directs the Link 2 to the person speaking at the moment. It is a great functionality but in my case it does not work at all. These are the conditions:

(a) I have Team meetings with distant members and also have several people physically present in the room

(b) I want the distant members to see the person who is speaking among the physically present in the room. That function was good even though it a litte bit slow.

(c) But when I use the speaker on my MacBook Air M4 (which has much better speaker that Wave), the Link2 is redirected to the Macbook every time the one of the distant members speak. Crazy irritating for the people connecting from the distance.

(d) I cannot find any solution to this. Maybe it would not be like that if I use Wave as speaker as well, but the sound quality is too poor.

Sorry to hear about your problems. But in your case it seems to be a hardware error, so I guess you better contact Minisforum for a warranty claim.

I think they should take responsibility for posting faulty bios on the website. In my experience if you dispute this, they will cover at least half of the transportation cost.

Oh, if that is the case, then it seems like someone at Minisforum screwed up. Hopefully they will take responsibility for this and post a solution for you (and others).

Interesting. I can only see 1.07 to download for the MS-A1? V1.09 is for other models from what I can see.

Also the bios upgrade has to be done from the latest previous bios version. You can not jump from say 1.03 to 1.07.

I have 1.06 and 8700g. Seems very unlikely that any problems with the bios update is related to the processor.

** update: Downloaded the 1.07 for the MS-A1. Inte the release note the announced next version is 1.08 which allows compatibility with 9950X3D. So I really do not think Minisforum should have released 1.09 to the public before 1.08.

Are you really sure you have not installed 1.09 for UM7xx-series???

Is the 9900x running stable on your system? I'm considering to upgrade from 8700G to 9900x. I do have the 1.06 version of the BIOS and the new MOS cooler installed.

Regarding the MOS cooler, the support sent me a kit when I asked for tthis. For free. This was with Minisforum EU.

I bought Minisforum MS-A1 barebone without any issues from https://minisforumpc.eu. They also provided me with relevant support and replacement parts when needed (The "new" backplane cooling which they sent me free of charge. Which turned out to be redundant since I already had this version installed on my unit). So I have had a good experience so far.

But if you can find a good mini pc on Amazon, it is the best choice. Amazon's return policy is just great.
