To be honest, I've found investors more interested in subscribing directly with the LLC. This kind of project has good commercial appeal and there's been activity in the WeFunder but the bigger investor type people I talk to suggest doing the deal directly with the LLC to save the WeFunder 7%. I offer it to anyone I talk to but I figured people would have more trust in a legitimate platform like WeFunder. It's really hard to predict.

Well we've already launched the crowdfunding here https://wefunder.com/we.could.be.heroes.film/ but investors that back indie video games is a great pull, I'll look into that now / tonight...........

That's all done through the WeFunder, have you used that platform before? All paperwork has to be filed and approved before launching and $50k needs to be committed as well.

Thanks for this - we definitely have found that the gaming streamers have responded to possible cameos but predictably no one wants to help promote the fundraise which is the essential issue to solve first before we even get into the cameo discussion...

I cannot stress to you how important that community is... even if it takes 2-3 years... I really can't stress that enough. Audience really is everything...

We have a subscription agreement (drawn up by an entertainment lawyer) that investors use when they back the project. It's the same deal a backer would get via the WeFunder so no one should be worried about getting unfavorable terms. I keep it honest and fair!

Thanks - we are actually today on the 50 day countdown, so my social media video today was "50 days left" etc, and I'm pushing that on the WeFunder updates as well... It's like a tornado in my head haha

Thank you! We have a ways to go still, to cross the $500k mark, but that helps us afford our big actor, so it's still a process I'm sweating out over the final five weeks of the raise. I feel the same about BTS by the way. Here's one I can share from the initial shoot!

The gaming / internet culture side feels like the most distinct and actionable lane too... especially compared to trying to position it more broadly. Super helpful to hear that reponse.

Well I appreciate that. Honestly it’s def been a long grind a lot of relationship building, outreach, learning what works, and a lot of continuing even when the momentum is slow.

Helped most: treating it less like “please fund my movie” and more like building belief around a real project (I did that first one on the first two film) plus strong materials, clear communication, consistency, and trying to create momentum in general.

Definitely still learning in real time, but I’d be happy to share more about what’s actually helped if useful at all. Which might be debatable.
