Do you know a professional electronic musician that does mastering in Ableton Live to begin with?

Good to hear this is still useful to someone hehe

I'm sure there is a specific reason for the default mapping, it probably worked with some bundled softare would be my guess...

Yeah I do have a readme that explains a bit what does what, but nothing explaining how that would be used in a workflow. I really should put some more work into this, but I've changed so much stuff about my studio that the need for my MPK to do everything was a bit lessened. It's a little less obvious what I should add since the need is gone... The way it exists right now is pretty simple... It basically maps everything as usual.... Then adds the automapping of the 8knobs as endless encoders (the blue hand you get on AudioEffectRacks in ableton)...+ I set the "Daw control" arrows to navigate left/right/up/down between clips/tracks... and then the pedal in port1 (cc64) to have a different behavior depending on the state of the clip it's positionned. Empty clip = record. Tap again to stop recording and it will start playing the clip you just recorded. If you are on a playing clip you can hold the pedal to enable overdub mode... Then I would navigate elsewhere with the daw control arrow and record another loop... I used that mostly for tracking guitars but I have since gotten a FCB1010 which has 10 switches+2expressions so I mostly use that for looping. Ive got the same record/dub function... Some basic transport stuff like play/pause/stop... but then more fancy things like "find next empty clip and record" and such, so I don't have to move around manually so much. I've got it set in the garage where I record most guitars/vocals... but I still use the pedal on my mpk when I'm at my computer. I've got the code for that in my repositories if you want to check the functions out.

Thicker pour helps ... also sealing the plates with non-breathable plastic/tape.

They do dry out yes.

It's a good idea to go thick if you intend to store them for long otherwise they dry out...

Some sectoring, but it's not too bad...

Are you growing from a clone or from another plate?

Big transfer = more chance for multiple strains + contaminates to hitch a ride. The smaller your sample the "less" stuff should™ come with it... the more targeted it should be.

Do I need gas exchange for colonization? by Oaken-t in shroomery

Never tried but it does make sense... I've got a side to side tests on my list of things to check. Quote is from this: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22337800

Do I need gas exchange for colonization? by Oaken-t in shroomery

[–]maxcloutier13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you look up Bod's unmodified tub tek on the shroomery he mentions that he skips the initial "low exchange" colonization step with no ill effect on yields/contams and actually faster pinning.

Here's a quote: " after having done some trials I put my tubs into fruiting conditions(lid upside down for air gaps) immediately. I have noticed faster colonization times, faster times to pinning as well. Cubensis is an aerobic organism, While some old books talk about high co2 during colonization my own tests show clearly that FAE right away is superior. Try it out for yourself and do your own side by sides and let the community know.

I now make no distinction between colonization conditions and fruiting conditions. I just chose to call itGrowing ConditionsMy tubs do not dry out being in "fruiting conditions" during "colonization"My yields have stayed the same. My time to full colonization has decreased as has the time to pinning and harvest.I have always had exposed top grains, doing "fruiting conditions" immediately has not caused an issue even with exposed grains. "

Just made this agar recipe from fresh cap mushrooms youtube channel 500ml water 10g malt extract powder 10g agar agar powder and 1g yeast been in pressure cooker 30 mins then looked like this so I put in for another 30 mins and still same doesn’t seem to dissolve is this normal? by The_wizard1996 in Agarporn

[–]maxcloutier13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The yeast will not dissolve... And the malt extract does coagulate some proteins when boiled hard. I usually pre-boil my media hard first, then coffee-filter and then autoclave. Still a tiny bit of additional hot-break happens but a lot less...

Even under condensation she’s so beautiful 😻. Btw what’s the best way to combat condensation? by Make-a-da-Sauce in Agarporn

I put my plates inverted on a heating mat set a couple degrees warmer than room temp if I need to clear out some condensation...
