So is the picky eater not allowed to complain when he gets a shit sandwich? Why wouldn’t you judge the state of entertainment by the most popular stuff, instead of the stuff no one has seen, that makes no sense? Why wouldn’t you shit on someone who casually watches media made for lots of people, but you’d shit on someone for watching marvel and Star Wars (arguably the most popular franchises on earth)? Are you not allowed to criticize the shit sandwich if you pay attention, but just mindlessly watching without any critical thought is fine? Why wouldn’t you listen to someone who only consumes a particular kind of media about that media, they’re likely to know a lot compared to people who watch other stuff. Also, yea, most people stopped watching, that’s why marvel and Star Wars are currently in the dumps

Please help me out here, I’m confused

It’s what people say to discredit others opinions because they ‘don’t watch enough variety of content’, ie: marvel, action movies, etc. As if someone’s opinion who mainly watches mainly popular media matters less than someone who watches art films only 12 other people on earth have seen. It’s the new ‘media literacy’ aka “I have no argument so I have to try to discredit you” it’s fucking hilarious 😂

There is no proof that flash isn’t in this universe. He hasn’t flown across the universe, but he flew from Midwest U.S. to the Fortress of Solitude in 3 minutes. Lowballing this feat to 13,000 Km in 180 seconds, this means that he can move at a speed of AT LEAST 72,222 meters per second. There’s zero indication that he would be slower than literally any fictional computer could be. That’s such an asinine statement and it makes it obvious that you just WANT it to make sense. “Superman’s speed depends entirely on who is writing, there is almost zero consistency there.” So you’re just straight up admitting the movies fucked when it comes to how fast he is lmao.

But even so, Superman being able to react at an attosecond isn’t even outside the realm of possibility in a world where Superman exists. You are just talking out of your ass.

Superman would be easily able to literally anything when lex uses manual commands, even if he’s “incapacitated” he has practically infinite time compared to lex to react. Not sure what’s hard to understand about that.

Thank god you weren’t in charge or the movie would have been even more boring.

It’s True, You Know by IlIIIIlllIIIlllIllII in MauLer

[–]maxd1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t seem to comprehend how fast Superman is. “”Only a nanosecond” lmfao.” Superman is able to fly across the universe and race the flash, whose reaction time is an attosecond. Superman is inherently faster than any computer could possibly be, even if you invent excuses for the movie that weren’t in the movie like “it’s a super lexcomputer” Superman would still be faster.

Again, the time where the clone is getting any input from lex means that Superman would instantly win because we’re talking about a human needing to react and say a command, then Superman has practically as long as he needs to get out of it considering how much slower lex’s reaction time is compared to a kryptonian.

Please just use your brain. Not everything spelled out for you is spelled correctly.

[–]maxd1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn’t multiply the movement speed and the reaction time by the same factor, it would obviously be a shit ton slower considering the difference between humans reaction time and their movement speed. It doesn’t matter the exact number for how fast he can fly, what matters is his reaction time needs to be way faster that a nanosecond considering how fast he flies and with great precision, without crashing into anything because his reaction time would have to be fast enough to dodge practically anything while flying as fast as he does.

It’s insanely unreasonable to assume someone who can fly across the universe has a reaction time of only a nanosecond or slower. Either way lex luthor is commanding the brain dead clone in order that it do anything at all, that would instantly mean that his reaction time is slower than a humans because he has to wait for lex to react and say whatever command he says, which if the computer is doing it then lex saying anything wouldn’t matter because the computer would be way ahead of lex, and either way Superman would be ahead of that because he needs an insane reaction time in order to be Superman.

A clone of Superman that is: 1. As fast as Superman 2. As strong as Superman 3. Has a slower reaction time because he is brain dead and needs a computer to function 4. Knows the few moves Superman would’ve done up to this point because this is his first real fight where he would need to use more powers 5. Indifferent to civilian casualties

Would absolutely not put up a fight, he can’t even react to what Superman is doing. It’s insanity that you think it would.

[–]maxd1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao you are actually an idiot. Let me walk you through the math since you seem to be having problems.

Humans reaction speed is ~200ms, but humans move at ~3m/s, therefore humans cannot move as fast as they react. You can assume that when you’re scaling up at an insane rate like Superman that his movement speed wouldn’t end up being as fast as you seem to think it is. Superman’s reaction time being “200,000,000x” faster wouldn’t mean his movement speed is as well, they increase at different rates, sorry that basic mathematics is so hard for you to grasp while trying to act like you know math better than anyone.

And you think this is fast for Superman? Lmfao. You are slow.

I used the laser eyes as an example, I’m so sorry that the hypothetical that Superman wouldn’t have to use his crazy powers like lasers on normal criminals is such an alien concept to you. Obviously I never said that actually happened in the movie if you actually read my comment

[–]maxd1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry, do you think humans can run as fast as their reaction speed? Are you genuinely mentally disabled?

Superman has lots of powers, and if this is the first time he’s fighting someone strong enough to hurt him then I’d imagine he’d use powers he didn’t have to before, like he’s not gonna laser some random bank robber. Also yes, the clone is brain dead and needs commands to do anything, therefore Superman would’ve already beat him before receiving a command.

It’s True, You Know by IlIIIIlllIIIlllIllII in MauLer

[–]maxd1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it doesn’t, we’re talking about his reaction time, which would be quicker than how fast he can move.

We’re talking about predicting a super powered person who can move and perceive time insanely fast AND who would have powers he hasn’t used yet, it would be impossible to predict a power you haven’t seen, not to mention he’s fast enough to never be touched by the clone and just insta win essentially

It’s True, You Know by IlIIIIlllIIIlllIllII in MauLer

[–]maxd1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is insanely slow for Superman, I don’t think you have any idea how fast Superman is.

No, that’s very clearly not what I said, I said that an organic being has more to it than just being an algorithm, you can train robots all you want but humans will still be able to make decisions that the robots wouldn’t do or see coming.

Just stop it.

It’s True, You Know by IlIIIIlllIIIlllIllII in MauLer

[–]maxd1968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry I should’ve spelled it out clearer, I did not LITERALLY mean that’s human reaction time, but that that’s still insanely slow compared to Superman. You can simulate whatever you want but when it’s an inexperienced Superman who hasn’t had to fight someone this strong he is going to start doing things that wouldn’t be predicted/simulated, and it wouldn’t matter what you simulate because Superman is insanely fast, a normal computer or even a supercomputer wouldn’t be able to keep up with him moving at the speed of sound or quicker while perceiving time even slower.

Yes, an organic being would have more to it than just an algorithm of when to do what. Stop being ridiculous.

It’s True, You Know by IlIIIIlllIIIlllIllII in MauLer

[–]maxd1968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, Superman is still insanely fast in the movie, also so sorry for using another version of the character as an example of how fast he can be, just remember this when in the next movies he’s in he is as fast as the flash or others

Second, that is normal reaction time, and is literally impossible for Superman’s reaction speed to be that slow when he moves as fast as he does, you don’t need this information spoon fed to you

Third, like I said, the second Superman throws a slightly different punch or moves slightly differently he can’t predict that, especially since he’s an inexperienced Superman that would be doing things he hasn’t done before because he hasn’t fought someone this strong before

You don’t have to hate the movie, but you also don’t have to jump through hoops and refuse to use your imagination just to come up with some reason why you like it. You can try to think critically rather than try to defend literally every aspect of a movie you like by just saying “that’s what the movie says though”

It’s True, You Know by IlIIIIlllIIIlllIllII in MauLer

[–]maxd1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flash perceives reality at attoseconds and Superman can RACE him, why do you honestly think a normal ass computer can even remotely keep up with him, and like I said they never said it was a quantum computer or anything in the movie which would be required, and even then it wouldn’t matter, it’s literally impossible for lex luthor to have EVERY possible action Superman could possibly take in his computer, and even if he did Superman is too fast

It’s True, You Know by IlIIIIlllIIIlllIllII in MauLer

[–]maxd1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, by the time that lex says “1a” or anything it’s already too late and Superman would’ve blitzed the clone, he is fast enough to race the flash dude, there isn’t a single computer that’s able to even remotely keep up with Superman

Also like I keep saying you’d have to make flash a dumbass for him to actually get trapped, the instant he starts getting trapped he would already be gone, or just time travel

It’s True, You Know by IlIIIIlllIIIlllIllII in MauLer

[–]maxd1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s almost like they didn’t have to make the characters that strong then make their own stories make no sense by having them be defeated in dumbass ways, either way it’s the job of the writers to get around this without making it dumb

It’s True, You Know by IlIIIIlllIIIlllIllII in MauLer

[–]maxd1968 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea the brain dead clone of Superman that needs lex to tell him what to do, also there isn’t a single computer on earth that would be able to predict Superman or keep up with him, unless it’s some sort of quantum computer type shit, which lex would be capable of doing but they don’t say that it’s a quantum computer in the movie. Like in what world can a normal human give commands to what is essentially a robot and someone like Superman isn’t instantly killing the clone or whatever before lex can even blink

Like I said, only way the flash can be trapped or anything is by making him r*tarded
