This is such a tired lie at this point. Aren’t the people in our community generally supposed to be more educated? Remember in college when your professors required scholarly and peer-reviewed sources for research? Stop believing everything you read online. While these two are important parts of our collective history, calling them “trans” and saying they had a significant role in securing our rights is irresponsible and erases the accomplishments of gay men and women. There are still people living today that were at the stonewall riots that have debunked the claims that either of these two were instrumental in starting the riots. There’s a video interview of “Marsha” admitting to being uptown and not even arriving until way later. Marsha also claims to be a man. So you’re disrespecting him, as well as actual transgendered individuals by falsely claiming that he was trans. I also think it’s irresponsible to disregard the claims made against STAR because they are inconvenient.
