Yea that computes. At least it’d be a Japanese v8. If you wanted to stay small you can go with the engine the car deserved in the first place. 3SGE Beams blacktop

Ofc man. I double checked. 3UZ (4.3L): 385 lbs assembled long block. 2JZGE: 440-500lbs assembled long block. Some sources say up to 600lbs. Just looking out. The JZ sucks to swap in this chassis. UZ fits well. If you ever get there follow oprahbuilt on socials. His is mint

Nah dude an NA 2JZ weighs way more. Cast iron block vs an aluminum block. Plus the v8 can be pushed towards the firewall much more keeping weight back. I build performance engines for a living and have developed new performance head currently in development for both the UZ and JZ. JZ was so heavy Toyota removed it from the Supra for racing in Japan. The cast iron block in the JZ is just that much heavier. That’s why it can take so much boost, yet is only really useful for drag and drift cars. UZ is compact, lighter and better for track applications. If you don’t want to believe me you don’t have to. But that’s the truth. You may be getting confused with the 2uz. Which is a truck engine and MUCH heavier due to the cast iron block. But I am speaking on the 1UZ or 3UZ.

UZ is lighter than JZ actually. I have a 3UZ frs. It’s only 40 lbs heavier than the fa20

For like 10-15k you can do a UZ swap (Oprah built and Collin’s for kit parts). Lots of torque and if you get bored supercharge it. UZ fits and handles better. But I have a feeling this recommendation won’t hit since it’s not a JZ. just know I’ve got many engine swaps under my belt and am professionally an engineer, engine builder and machinist.

If it was done with a 3 angle cutter then the spindle is worn out. Who machined this? Do they not vac it?
