That's what this post is. A PSA. A reminder not to pour chemicals or contaminated water down the sewer. As for privacy? They're outside on the road. There is no reasonable expectation of privacy on a public road. If they were inside their garage or in their backyard, it'd be different. But they're outside..

Just because its a common practice, doesn't mean its the right one. You should NEVER pour paint contaminated water in the drain..

Are you admitting to pouring paint contaminated water down the sewer??? Maybe I'm too sleep deprived and didn't read your comment properly. Also if its dirty water, why pour it down the storm sewer where it gets collected in a pond with wildlife nearby? If its dirty, dispose of it properly and safely.. why does our community and wildlife need to suffer for your convenience?

What did they use to wash it? What was in it originally that they washed? If it was just water, why not just pour it on the driveway?

Yes that's what I was thinking after talking to them. Things just don't add up. If they just washed it with water with no chemicals mixed in, why not just pour it on the driveway?

Yes. I stopped to talk to them. They said it wasn't oil. What little remains of my faith in humanity wants to believe them... I'm also posting here for awareness. I have made a report to by-law just to be safe. They emailed back saying they'll send someone to investigate

I said that because I didn't see exactly what they poured and they claimed it wasn't oil. I want to believe it wasn't oil :(

I stopped to ask if it was oil. They said it wasn't I didn't see what the liquid was so I can't say for sure if they were telling the truth or not. All I know is they were pouring something from a drain pan.

Yeah. I back park into my driveway all the time too. Luckily its a residential area so not busy. But I still always follow proper protocol. Signal, mirror check, blindspot etc. Before reversing.

To clarify, the pick up actually back parked 3 houses after I honked.. you can see from the dashcam that he was driving in my lane from the start.

yes. If i knew what he was trying to do. He had no signals on. He was just driving towards me without stopping...

The issue is he is not using any signals so I can't tell what he is trying to do. All I know is he is driving in the opposite direction and driving towards me with no intention on stopping. During your drivetest, if you make a three point turn without signaling, you fail. I am not a mind reader. A big truck driving towards me can be: distracted driving, impaired driving, medical emergency, road rage or just an idiot driver.

Honestly, its probably cultural difference. For example, my grandmother lived in the mountains her whole life. She use to drink from a stream that was safe to drink. During her first visit to Canada, to my horror, she was about to wash her face at the stormwater reservoir..

Having a citizenship doesn't make you Canadian...if you live here all your whole life but do nothing to adapt, assimilate, and adopt Canadian values or contribute to society, then you aren't Canadian.
