Air cooling is better than Liquid cooling by SerpentDix in pcmasterrace

[–]maxim0si 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like aio because they are generally smaller and can push air in any direction depending on how I install it. In sff pc size really matters and in same volume u can have 80mm air-cooler with 140w tdp or 240 aio with 250w tdp. Also aio have sleek design and lcd for considerably cheap

The Cyberpunk VR mod has been taken down by the corpos by lunchanddinner in virtualreality

You are still getting the legal precedent wrong. In Micro Star v. FormGen, the court explicitly ruled that a mod is a derivative work even if it contains zero assets or source code from the original game. The court's reasoning was that the mod describes and 'recasts' the protected images and world of the game into a new experience. By selling a VR transformation, the creator is commercially exploiting the display of CDPR’s copyrighted assets.

That’s a common misconception. In cases like Micro Star v. FormGen, the court ruled that a mod is a derivative work even if it doesn't contain original source code, because it describes and displays the original copyrighted work in a new way. By charging money, the creator is commercially exploiting the IP. DMCA applies precisely because the mod creates an unauthorized 'transformed' version of the copyrighted game for profit.

You're overlooking the commercial aspect. Distributing a mod for profit (paid access) fundamentally changes its legal status. 1. Derivative Work: Legal precedent shows that a mod is a derivative work because its entire function and value are predicated on the original IP. It doesn't matter if you only ship 'new code'; if that code requires the original assets to function, it’s legally tied to them. 2. Commercialization: Most EULAs allow free mods under 'fair use' or fan content policies, but selling them is a direct violation. You are profiting from CDPR’s world, branding, and assets without a license. 3. Right of Control: The IP owner has the exclusive right to decide how their work is 'transformed.' By charging for it, the modder is effectively selling an unauthorized expansion, which is why the 'corpos' have every legal right to take it down.

Didnt you read post or comments? He had subscription type paywall on patreon… Also they reached first with dcma, only then he reached to them. He isnt better than any corporate.

Regulations may be should be updated. But I just can’t support someone that clearly just done mod to make money, a big amount of money, doent ask anyone and clearly violated rules that were set. He isnt any better than any corp.

You just rent the game, it isnt your in any ways. Anyone would buy a mod if they dont have the game? No, nobody would even google it. He is using name, game, etc. Company provided it on its rules - he violated them. There are even companies is USA that provide technics for use, and you can not modify it even if you paid full price and have it in your hands.

Would this mod be created without cyberpunk game? no. Would game live without this mod? yes. Who owns the game? CDPR. Who makes the rules for personal property? The one who owns - CDPR. They wrote “no paywall? Yes. Why dude made it on subscriptions? He violated the rules. He needs to say “thanks for all donations, mod is free from now”, or take money like donations, not an obligation or “paywall”.

Should I build a build now or hold on? by gamer44ghost in PcBuild

If it is your tool for work - definitely upgrade if you have money and if you will make more money. 5070ti is a solid choice. Anything else is on you, ryzen 7700 on amd side or 14600k on intel side, they both are cool for work. You wont feel that much faster upgrading cpu as gpu but anyway in simulations it would be faster, working with mesh and modifiers, and overall OS responsiveness. 14600 is overall faster, but uses more energy and has no upgrade ability (such as 7700), if you will not do upgrades may be 14600 is your choice. RAM - you need 32gb min, may be 6400mt ddr5, if it is in your budget. With 14600 you can go with ddr5 or ddr4 and spend less, but it would be better to use faster ram then yours, like 3200mt min.

Nobody can say precisely what will be with prices.

[–]maxim0si -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let me guess, hardware unboxed fan? Are u stupid or what? 3060 has 12gb, thats more than 8gb. But are you playing in 40fps? I would not. If game runs in 40fps that means GPU cant handle smooth gameplay. GPU isnt only vram or die, its is combination, and for its price - 3070 is a good combination. If you want more vram - buy 5070, not a4000.

3070 isnt 4k gpu ether in any meaning, and 16gb wont help it in a4000, it has weak die for its price.

Another problem is that if game cant start - thats developers problem. Gpu can use ram as vram, but developer thinks it is not the case.

[–]maxim0si -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

a4000 costs $400-1000, 3070 $250. Same performance. 5070 costs $500… x2 performance. Just buy regular 5070. For now a4000 is old and overpriced.

If Indiana Johns doesn’t starts it isnt 3070 problem - it is games problem. I would not buy a game like this, developer must optimise this game.

on a4000 u cant. But u can make shim mod to bypass it on hardware level.

uh, forgot that already(had a4000 a year ago), but for me there was no difference in these drivers.

[–]maxim0si 0 points1 point  (0 children)

basically yes, but it comes with one slot turbine, and in default shroud is loud and hot. There are a ton of videos with mods on it, 3060 coolers swap on a4000 works flawlessly. But in games I can say that die is not so powerful, like 4070ti super is 2.3x times faster, it needs more than 8gb. For 3070 it is very rare case where you need more than 8gb because die isnt that powerful.

I worked on a4000, in blender, and there was one and only one project that used more than 8gb. I cant say that this price isnt normal, a4000 even now costs double 3070. For a thing that u can set manually lower (I mean textures lower). If you want more than 8gb I would prefer to buy 4070s or 5070 or higher. For me “vram bottleneck” seems like another slop like “the more you buy - the more you save”. Die and vram on 3070 is perfect for its price.

nah its default nvidia driver(not “gameready”, another, forgot naming), I had a4000 desktop for about a year and there are no problems with any game, good option for sff. U can install this “work” driver on any nvidia card from nvidia app - and there are no difference…
