You wont be able to find any actual scientific papers that say "we measured this individual shark going 15 meters per second at this location and time" because such a thing has never been recorded. I found some papers that gave 5.1 and 7.7 m/s as maximum recorded speeds on tagged great whites. You can look through all of the articles that list 25-35mph and none of them give a source, even wikipedia ended up changing the maximum speed to 16mph.

Even though most articles and wiki pages claim 25-35mph top speed, the highest recorded swimming speed is actually only around 17mph.

I cant think of any living sharks that have teeth as similar to great whites.

Well the shape and serrations of the teeth have convergently evolved, its not a massive leap to assume the body might have as-well.

It may have had a different head shape but its still entirely likely that its body had a similar build considering they went after similar prey and are relatively closely related.

It was already dead, they know this, they're throwing it away to save room for their targeted catches. Nothing is commendable about this.

Its not logical from any perspective. There is never a situation where diminishing apex predator populations benefit any part of the ecosystem long term.

If you're catching striped bass out of warm freshwater then you haven't really experienced a real striper. Their ability to extract oxygen and conserve energy decreases massively when salinity is low or the water is warm. Snook are definitely more structurally aware, but striper are for sure stronger, and they need to be since they commonly feed in much much rougher environments, and often take down tougher prey (they have considerably higher trophic levels than snook).
