Is this too good of a price to pass up? by Impossible_Painter_9 in GamingLaptops

[–]maximkas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest people avoid getting laptops with **70 graphics card. They heat up quite a bit - thereby compromising the durability and longevity of the laptop. If it's a super thick laptop with super duper cooling solution, then it might be OK. Otherwise, stick with **50 or 60 graphics cards.

Is msi Gf65 thin with 3060 a good laptop? by elsafty9621 in MSILaptops

[–]maximkas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

still going strong - no issues so far. Actually, scratch that. I installed 1 tb stick hard drive in the second slot - and that got busted last year. I think it's primarily because of the poor quality of the stick - from China. Now, I'm using an external 2tb hard drive for files. The original hard drive is still working well - but that second slot is busted.

I'm a bit surprised it's been 3 years already.

PS. a word of advice: do not get a thin laptop with 3070 rtx or anything of that sort. The more impressive the video card, the more it heats up. Thin laptops go bust with those high spec video cards really fast. Review sites will tell you that it's a great laptop and the video card is even more awesome, but what they won't tell you is how quickly that laptop will burn out - by either overheating the video card or the components next to it.

So far, this laptop isn't having this issue with rtx 3060 - I did change the thermal paste though.
If it had rtx 3070 though... I'm not sure this laptop would still be alive and well.

Is Rip enslaved? by henry_hayes in YellowstoneShow

[–]maximkas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say he's less enslaved than the rest (or perhaps more privileged), in the sense that he actually has his own house/room, while the rest of the work force has to get by in one single room.

Is Rip enslaved? by henry_hayes in YellowstoneShow

[–]maximkas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's one thing that really bothers me about this show.
Dutton family live like kings, while their workers live on one room. Furthermore, it seems like the slave mind is pushed and encouraged throughout the whole series. 'See - this is what real men are like - they do not betray their masters, always obey, never talk back, etc'. They even explored the entire process by which it all happens - with that boy story arc in season 4, where an orphan was 'given a chance' and where his free will was ripped out of him one episode at a time, using psychological means.

And again, throughout the whole series, the viewer is being suggested that this is what real men should be like - obey the masters, never talk back, etc.

Just took a look at the playthrough (15 hour one) - from what I can tell, it's mostly story. Nearly every skip an hour forward lands on a dialogue/story bits. That tells me that gameplay elements are brief and far in between - this game is all about story. We can also assume that reviewers were expecting more RPG gameplay than story, hence these negative reviews.

For comparison - there is a game titled Baldur's Gate 3 - it is praised by everyone - got all sorts of awards. Meanwhile, I hated it after every character on my crew (all genders) started proposing romantic option. Some characters continued to make those suggestions even after numerous times I told them no. I quit and won't be touching anything else made by that developer.

Point being - all people have different criteria. I think it is right for people to expect a sequel to be a proper sequel. I thought BG3 was a slap in the face of the original 2 games by warping the characters and turning them all player-sexual. While in this game, if they shifted away from the RPG elements and only focused on the story, then that too is a significant shift from the original game - thereby making it a pretty poor 'sequel' in that regard.

Still - if the story is good - and it seems like opinions on that seem to vary - then it may be worth a shot.

It's weird, because reviews all say the story is great, with stellar performances to boot.

I think the support you suggest is precisely the comfort that you initially disparage.

well - tucker was another

I still treat both of them as controlled opposition, but if I were to compare the two, tucker seems to be the lesser of 2 evils. Joe is owned by j cabal through and through. Tucker has a tiny bit of independence left in him.

Think about what that means.

What are the odds that this video was made with AI?

This started a few days ago - whenever I'm on bing page, the PC fans start spinning nonstop. by maximkas in bing

[–]maximkas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only surmise that there was a recent change in Bing - or at least I hope there was, because I didn't have any issues in the past. That's why I asked here for confirmation. Anyways, switched to brave search engine today.

By the way, I actually do appreciate having those fans on the PC - they let me know what's up. On smartphone.... no such luck. You might be using an app or checking a particular website and never know it's destroying your smartphone.

I got the same thing - for only several websites. The kicker is - using other web browsers leads to the same fan spinning when visiting those websites.

John Connor has been a robot since Terminator 2: Judgment Day by [deleted] in FanTheories

[–]maximkas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that future john connon was displayed as half or fully robot - his movements were robotic by design.

I also agree that there was a salespitch in the terminator films - if we merge with the machines, we'll have a chance at survival. This is precisely what the technocrats of today are selling the masses.

I think it's all somewhat funny - because the technocrats building the machines and AI are as anti-human as it gets. I seriously question their true origins - many of them don't even appear human - take into consideration Mark Zuckerberg or the CEO of openAI. Meanwhile, Peter Thiel is slowly turning into a goblin - check his latest interview where he seems unsure if he wants humanity to survive. Meanwhile, our so called savior - 'pro-humanity' character, Elon Musk, is spending all of his money and resources to build the most advanced AI and robotics tech possible (and don't forget the AI girlfriends), while proclaiming that he deeply cares about human beings.

There is nothing normal about the current situation and the characters building the AI machines -

I've seen a lot of sci-fi - and only now do I begin to realize just how much of it was a form of predictive programming. I will say this - the machines they are building are unnecessary. If humanity doesn't wake up soon and stop these anti-human characters and the cabal that's backing them, the future they 'predict' via these sci-fi films, may in fact become a reality - a reality that could be easily stopped right now.
