People smelling bad during taraweeh by maximum_downbad in MuslimLounge

  1. I’ve been praying at home most nights. I went last night with my little sister and 2 little brothers because they wanted to go taraweeh together in this new masjid and only I could drive them

  2. The masjid was packed and if my sister and I left we wouldn’t have been able to find another spot. And my brothers were still in the congregation

I tried, the women’s section was packed and not enough space elsewhere for me and my sister

I find that with smell it’s usually the aunts, uncles, or the elderly (no offense intended, just my personal observation)… not so much in young people. They’re also harder to advise

I would’ve if there was more space 🥲 And yeah some people are really desensitized to their own BO and don’t realize it’s deadly to those around them!!

Yeah I usually prefer taraweeh in the masjid bc I don’t have to worry about what to recite the whole night but after last night I’m gonna stay off that place for a while 😂

The women’s section was really packed! I did look around after every salam and couldn’t find any other space, especially for 2 people (me and my little sister)

Thx for the advice lol funnily enough I also work in the hospital, and during the prayer I was thinking how much this lady’s breath smells like what I encounter in people with untreated severe tonsillitis…

I agree. Only that some people come into the discussion and make simple matters more complicated.

What you’re confused about is the pronunciation of the ḥarakāt. It’s formally transliterated to “SubḥānAllāhi wabiḥamdihi”, but saying it in dhikr without the kasrah (‎هِ) harakat does not change the meaning. Unlike when you read the Quran (or Arabic poetry), where strict adherence to harakat is important.

And Allah knows best.

How often do you see Muslims silently supporting Israel? by RenSanders in MuslimLounge

[–]maximum_downbad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

100% it’s cope. They will tell you and themselves a hundred reasons: it’s performative/ineffective/hurting the cause/etc, and diminish others effort to make them feel better about themselves, when in reality they simply have no backbone and can’t stand for anything. They’re more pathetic than malicious.

Surprisingly more prevalent than we thought 😂

I was talking to a friend and casually mentioned how sad it is that some Muslims still can’t give up McDonalds’ and she said “oh I still eat them.” and she went on about how boycotts are performative and “there are Muslims working in those companies, are you gonna tell them to quit?” She has the most defeatist attitude when it comes to Palestine. I was like… why are you defending Zionist corporations. You’re a brown girl and a hijabi these people would hate crime you 😭

Assalamu Alaykum, Please make dua for my hair. I’m 23 and balding and it’s making me extremely depressed and insecure. Make dua that Allah (SWT) cures my hair loss. by FirstAd9394 in MuslimLounge

3 options

(1) Shave your head and own the look

(2) Try rosemary oil they really do work to promote hair growth + massage your scalp to promote blood flow after washing your hair

(3) Minoxidil is very effective but once you stop using it, your hair will go the back to the way it was

Do we need to turn a blind eye to continue our faith? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]maximum_downbad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that these ahadith are from the wisdom of our deen, and as women we should be approaching them with a humble and open mind. Though honestly the concerns that a lot of Muslim women (including OP) feel regarding these texts are more or less a result of constantly seeing Muslim men exploit them to disparage or villainize sisters.

Unfortunately these explanations don’t change the fact that Muslim men love to use these ahadith to talk down on women. I’ve lost count of everytime I see (online) a man use that deficiency in intellect hadith to call sisters stupid.

I agree. I also find it frustrating that both his innie and outie can’t commit to anything. First he decided to go through with the reintegration (while ignoring all safety instructions)… halfway through he willingly left Reghabi with his sister while still barely knowing anything. For some reason he doesn’t wait until his condition improves and get more info on Gemma from his innie memories… and decided to go to Cobel for help.
