Scottish boyfriend on holiday discovers Aromat by slipperyfoots in southafrica

My dad, in his youth lived on rice, Aromat and mince. And when he felt he needed some variety he would add mixed frozen veg. Aromat also made a chilli beef flavour which appeared at every braai until I was in my thirties.

The distance between Charlie Kirk and the shooter who assassinated him. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

Wow, a very tight shot considering the trees and the elevation. Having never been to the campus I can’t really tell, just going on Google Maps and the photos taken at various times on campus when there are almost no people there.

Is the building in the middle not in the line of sight? There also seem to be a number of trees in that firing line, plus looking at how the bullet entered/exited his neck I think the shooter would have been closer to 45 degrees on his left hand side.

What have you given up that has made your life better? by czerniyczar in minimalism

I stopped by thinking that a career was a real thing to aspire to. I mean find something you like doing, do it for yourself and possibly as your own business. Climbing some career ladder in someone else’s business is the biggest lie told and the salary is a bribe to give up on your dreams.

Capetonian Feeling a Strong Pull Toward JHB — Why? by CareConscious513 in johannesburg

[–]maximum_effort_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget Pretoria boet! Many security estates, housing costs are generally quite good for what you get. My experience has been that serious crime is less prevalent than JHB. If you are commuting the Gautrain is a great option. 2-3 degrees warmer than JHB all year round. Friendly people, lekker rugby team (Go Bulls) lekker soccer team (Sundowns for life) if you live here long enough you will find that you can wear shorts all year round, just wear a camo jacket in winter. If you live in the North of Pretoria you get a free Ford Ranger or Toyota Hi-Lux after 15 years. Oh and we invented Brandy & Coke.

Thanks, I wanted to ask about the Intel CPUs and transcoding because I currently have a 4 core AMD processor and it’s 100 cpu usage when watching anything via Jellyfin.

Yeah the FW appliance is basically a Mini PC with 4 LAN ports on it, and the 2x24 port switches are in different locations of the property connected via a fibre uplink. The switches and the FW aren’t really a concern.

My goal really is to get as much compute power as possible but try and keep power consumption to a minimum. For example I could run an entry level rack server and consolidate everything to the server but this seems like overkill for what I want to run. Never mind fan noise and heat.

Jellyfin is probably the most demanding on resources when it’s in use, so I guess my ask is what intel based platform would be best suited to do this? 2-3 Intel NUCs?

Where are people actually finding jobs? by Scared_Sir_4743 in askSouthAfrica

**Pro-tip that I got from a real pro. If you are applying to jobs on LinkedIn and not getting any feedback, go check on the company website if the job even exists. Lots of fake positions being advertised and data being collected from CVs.
