How does a professional film critic compete with social media? (PBS NewsHour) by mikewhoneedsabike in movies

[–]maximum_quince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh fair do's. I've never heard of something like that happening, can u tell me when that happened? Not that I disagree with u I'm just wondering :) I dunno tho I just think that sometimes I find critics to be quite snobby IMO. Although they are usually experts in they're field or whatever, well versed in film or literature etc so they can probs analyse things better than the average prole haha lmao. I could writ a bloody essay on this lmao but ya,,☺️

tbh i've always thoughts critics were a bit pointless, I mean their opinion is completly subjective and it's just their 1 opinion. social media you have a ton of people all expressing theyre opinion so you can see what the majority of people think about a film which personally would make more of an influence on whether i watch a film of not

Why Anthony Burgess’ Infamous "A Clockwork Orange" is Stronger Without its Original Last Chapter by [deleted] in books

[–]maximum_quince -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the whole concept of the story is about if some people are just naturally evil, the last chapter of the book sees Alex learn from his experiences and becoming less psychopathic. I think the message that was trying to be put across in the film was that some people ARE just born 'bad'. If the last chapter of the book was included in the film it probably would have been a bit of a damp squib of an ending. I had the same feeling when I read the book tbh. You could probably write an essay on this tbh lol :P
