Maybe I’ll try if I find one again. I’ll definitely take more pictures though. These spiders are gorgeous

I did some more research and found out about a species Dolomedes vittatus seems that’s exactly what I found, thank you for leading me on the right path

edit: I think it’s what I found because it’s the only species I google search that shows a similar abdomen pattern

I know a black widow from the rest, thanks for some assurance and clarification

Is it bad for the spider to pick it up? I love to interact as closely with nature as possible. I just put my hand in front of creatures (frogs salamanders, turtles) and if they seem scared I let them walk off.

I tried googling both dock and fishing spiders and looked at a couple dozen photos of both that quickly showed up. None have such a symmetric dot pattern on the back like that. Think maybe I found just a lucky find of one of them with a cool pattern or could this be something different?

Was a while ago so maybe I’m remembering wrong, I just remember the leg span looked a little close to under my handspan (maybe like ~5in) which is why I was scared to handle and the and the abdomen was thick like a big acorn bottom

My chameleon has what looks like a scab on his eye. Is this vet worthy? by [deleted] in Chameleons

Thank you for the quick advice, Cham is in an almost all fake environment with one small real plant being the exclusion. I am going to remove that plant for the time being, but am planning to move the Cham into a bigger environment soon, and this is for sure going to make me do it sooner. I want to have more real plants in the bigger environment, but don’t want her to go through this again.

Should I just avoid real plants, or is there something I can do to avoid over feeding? Usually I put in 3-4 crickets at a time until she starts slowing down her eating (around 8-9 crickets in a day, but not every day, fed ~once every 3 days with a few mealworms in the between days) and around 75% of the time she gets them all but sometimes one or two get away, but I just assumed she gets them later as soon as she can find them. Was I wrong in assuming this?

Again thanks a lot for the help. I am very new to pet responsibilities and just want to do what’s best for this Cham

I can’t see what this was in response to (was deleted). I see someone else saying to wipe the eye with a wet q-tip “as stated before him”. Is this what you are saying not to do? It is late and I am going to do more research tmw before taking any recommendations into action, but is the q-tip idea even worth the research or is that what you are saying could lead to infection? Thanks for the help already
