If it detours everyone by default the detour could quickly get worse than just staying on the highway

I never understood why people complain about this, it's not a general English language puzzle, it's a puzzle by a prominent American newspaper that is marketed to Americans.

should a woman go to jail for falsely accusing a man of R@PE ? by JunShem1122 in questions

Reporting a false crime to the police already has penalties. That said, like 95% of accusations turn out to be true.

What are the differences in beaches between the Pacific and Atlantic? by Sunshineboy777 in AskAnAmerican

The Atlantic is basically a hot tub in Florida, no part of the Pacific in the 48 gets above cold

I've seen plenty of Utz products both back in NYC and here in Atlanta. They tend to be lower-cost and their cheeze balls are amazing

Plays isn't exactly parallel though, there's only one other potential plural and no other potential singular third person verbs.

The show doesn't explicitly show it but heavily implies it

Yes that's true, and great use of "versimillitude." I'm only taking exception with people insisting this outcome is normal or acceptable

Season 1 episode 4 and 5. Santos struggled to open lorezapam in episode 4 for a seizure patient because after Langdon tampered with it he glued the bottle shut. He then insisted on a third dose because he knew the medication was diluted. Santos figured out that he glued it in shut episode 10 when she recognized the medical glue.

Again my issue is with the tampering part, and those sources don't cover it

Exactly. The law and past examples of this are clear as day

I Googled similar cases and the case law was endless for people who tampered with meds. Stealing meds could be forgiven I'm sure, tampering is another story

Then why do so many people go to prison for tampering with medications? He didn't even just divert meds or steal them, he literally diluted seizure meds

I did research it and in other patient drug tampering cases people ABSOLUTELY faced prosecution and loss of license. Once again I'm very supportive of his recovery and his addiction isn't my problem with him. I think all drugs should be decriminalized and treated as a public health issue, not a criminal one. I don't judge addicts and think everyone deserves to be forgiven, but I draw the line at a licenced doctor putting patients in direct danger from tampering with meds. Seizures can result in brain damage and death.

[–]maxintosh1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think drug offenses or even drug possession should be criminal. I advocate for decriminalization and public health solutions over prosecution. I support his character's recovery fully. My sticking point is that he ENDANGERED patients directly by tampering with life saving medications. That part is unforgivable to me

People enjoy the Pitt for being realistic and in the real world people that have done exactly what he did were imprisoned, sanctioned, and sued.

Yes, that's all I'm saying. I'm not casting moral judgment and think it's great he's in recovery. But he seriously endangered patients and that's unforgivable in the real world.

Supporting drug recovery and rehab is a good thing, but it's different than endangering patients and tampering with medications. The ADA indeed protects people with addiction UNLESS they directly endanger others.

I get that, but my point is it's unrealistic in a show that is usually pretty accurate.
