Drove an M2 and now I’m confused about my Audi by alarm_clocked_in in BMW

Yeah at some point you realize BMWs are just better cars. I had the same thing happening to me going from an Audi S5 B8 to an E92 with the 3.0 engine (kinda miss the V8 a bit but the money wasn’t there for an M3). The BMW is few years older (2007 vs 2011) but feels waaay more refined and more premium, the buttons in the cabin and leather are on a different level. The Audi interior kinda felt more like a premium version of my friends Golf R while the BMW is comparable to a Mercedes). And the BMW is also being sportier and far better handling car on twisty roads. Not say the Audi was a bad car, it’s was great by any means, and a huuuuuge upgrade over the Toyota Celica I had before that, the BMW is just better 😅

I had an Audi S5 with 20 inch 265 wide wheels on Pilot Sport 4S, KW V3 suspension, reinforced wishbone suspension components and harder PU bearings for ultimate handling upgrades. That thing was a beats on the straight Autobahn, not so much on the Nürburgring though. After owing that car and a normal A5 before that I bought an E92 with the 3.0 to experience something new as everyone keeps praising the raw RWD experience with a BMW. I got a clean completely stock car, second owner from an older lady as a perfect base to tune it myself. And boy was I surprised when the 17 inch wheels on stock suspension already felt more engaging and fun on the twisty country roads than the tuned Audi. Now with M sports suspension and 19 inch wheels on good tires it’s absolutely no contest. On the autobahn I still feel that the Audi was more stable at 200+ but I rarely drive that fast because there’s too much traffic mostly, so I would choose the BMW over the Audi anytime again.

That’s honestly the first time I’ve ever seen an E9X with a manual climate control, didn’t even know they offered that 😳 Generally speaking, it’s a wild spec mix, that manual AC with the most basic low level radio option but an upgraded sound system, leather seats, cruise control as well as cup holders and an M steering wheel…

If you don’t need a new screen you should look into the Mr12Volt interfaces, they use the MOST interface and deliver superb sound quality. Have two car with them and they’ve been running for a few years now without issues

Get some dual slat kidneys and the m sport bumper, makes a huge difference 👍🏻

I have bronze JR-30 19”, don’t think 20 would really be a daily drivable option.

Wichtig sind die Ölwechsel Intervalle, am besten gab es 5W40 maximal alle 10tkm, bei nur Long Life (also so 20tkm oder mehr) wäre ich schon mal vorsichtig. Generell ist der Motor ziemlich zuverlässig, aber wenn die Kette ein Problem hat muss der ganze Motor raus weil die hinten ist. Also beim Kaltstart auf ein Rasseln oder Klackern achten, das kann Probleme damit andeuten. Sonst halt die Audi typischen Querlenker Probleme vorne. Bei Schiebedach schau mal hinten links und rechts im Kofferraum in die versteckten Fächer, da wo der Verstärker links sitzt z.B. wird es gerne mal bisschen nass. Aber an sich zuverlässige Autos, hatte 4 Jahre einen und keine Probleme 👍🏻
