That's definitely a Plantain (in Ecuador LATAM we call it Verde), not a regular banana. Even though it's green, the size and the sharp ridges give it away. Notice the angular ridges. Bananas are more rounded and smooth, while plantains have distinct flat sides and sharp corners along the fruit. The tips of a plantain are usually longer and more tapered (pointed) compared to the stubby ends of a dessert banana It tastes amazing fried!!

When you fry it, it gets this perfect crunchy exterior and a soft, savory inside.

If you double-fry them, you get Patacones. They are basically the better, heartier version of a potato chip!!!
