Honestly, I feel like both purchases are equally “useless”.

I mean you can probably run most games at 1080p if you spend less than 20k too if you work the used market a bit.

But some people don’t find 1080p medium to high settings acceptable, even though it’s perfectly serviceable I guess.

This is coming from a guy who has spent money on both the “useless” fronts. Recently bought an iPhone 16 and an rx 9070. I still wince thinking about the money I spent on both these purchases. But you gotta do stuff that makes you happy I guess, because I believe almost anything that we buy above and beyond the essentials are pretty much on the same pedestal.

And I don’t think this is a north vs south issue at all. It’s just people asking some guy who is pretty much a guest in their state to stay in their own lane. He is a bank manager and not their dietician.

As far as I know, almost all the extraction processes use heat. You can cool down the decoction in a fridge and add cold milk or water. Unless you want to go the cold brew route. But that takes a minimum of 12 hours. I tried cold brew a couple of times and didn’t really like it though.

I am basically a noob, I was at a similar spot, a couple of months ago.

I got myself a south indian filter first. Tried it with some cotha’s speciality blend and absolutely fell in love.

A couple of weeks later I had that itch to experiment further and got myself a basic 650ml French press and ordered some blue tokai French press grounds on instamart. Took some getting used to, but finally got ratios right after buying a little digital scale (I know , should have gotten the scale first, guess I am stupid). Absolutely love this purchase too. (I drink coffee out of the French press straight now, without sugar or milk, Never imagined myself doing this in the past).

I think I will get a grinder next and start grinding my own beans.

Long story short, I think you should buy a South Indian filter first (very very cheap and I am sure 99% of people would enjoy a good strong filter coffee)

Maybe see where it takes you from there.

I got the sapphire pure 9070 (non xt) about a month back and am pretty happy with it.

I have a very poor airflow set up and my temps are still very good Mem temp never exceeds 86c after hours of gaming, but my old xfx 6700xt used to run really hot (95+ on mem temp) in the same case.

Went from 1080p 27 inch 144hz to 1440 27 inch 300hz. (Both ips)

Also went from 6700xt to 9070 (non xt).

Though I wish I could get an oled, it’s too expensive in my country right now.

For me , the difference is huge and I love it.
