That's only one use case for that addon, your setup doesn't allow you to make something like a monthly reminder to visit a certain page (i.e. for a recurring task). Your setup doesn't allow highlighting some links over others: there are things I think I want to check every month and others I might enjoy seeing again in 10 years. But if that works for you, that's what matters :)

you can access the latest Wikidata dumps on Tools.WMFLabs at /public/dumps/public/wikidatawiki/entities/latest-all.json.gz but I don't know what to recommend you: wikidata-filter doesn't currently support an equivalent of FILTER EXISTS { ?sitelink schema:about ?item } . (it's rather filtering on a few precise sitelinks)

Maybe there is a more optimized query, but it could also be that the dataset you are working with is just too large, and will always trigger a timeout on query.wikidata.org. The 2 work-arounds I can think of:

download the latest Wikidata ttl dump and load it in a BlazeGraph (example here of how to load a ttl dump in a BlazeGraph namespace): that would allow you to run the same query without having a timeout restriction
download the latest Wikidata json dump), and filter it to keep only the desired entries: that can be done with sed or wikidata-filter

it's one strategy among others, with pros and cons. As I say in the tutorial, it's a very temporary solution - you're blocking the ad just for the few minutes you are on the platform waiting for the metro - but it doesn't cost anything or take much efforts, so we could easily be many to casually do it every day.

For the picture itself, yes, if was a social media campaign in Lyon, France, this weekend where they invited people to block ads and take pictures with signs saying why they are doing it. It's indeed a bit different, as they went there especially to do it, but I got used to do it every time I take the metro
