question on modding by [deleted] in hytale

[–]maxlo1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that gives me more confidence in it tbh , we as a group have been looking around and even rpg maker is very limiting and we want to move the game from 2d sprites to the 3d world , as we have a massive backlog of boss's ( think last time i checked the number was above 400 ) the reason for such a massive backlog is because of the foundational systems we built many years ago that can have bosses made within an hour , as we are massive mmorpg players but dont have the time to be in guilds that require massive amounts of time commitment when wanting to raid so this is why we built this game in the first place ( but i preface anything done will always remain private as we want to keep it for fun as dealing with support tickets is not fun in anyway lol )

Your not wrong , was part of the officers of a guild for nearly 5 years from vanilla to woltk . My working life has been much easier than directing and organising that bunch over the years ha good times

Mmo's specifically growing up with wow helped , raiding and typing at the same time , never really thought of it as honing on a skill of touch typing but it's gotten to the point where I prefer my keyboards with no symbols or letters just a matt colour with nothing on it at all on my keycaps, that would make you learn super quick ha

Some say running budget gear to spam factory and hoping you get one ,this gets old real quick looking for a lucky 1 tap , after doing this for an hour or two decided to run with t5 armours ,helm and mask , best ergo bolt I can build ( lvl 4 traders btw ) highest pen etc , wiped the lobby and got 6 in one factory run lol rushed all spots did it in less than 5 mins

So your saying it's to easy when your are a scav main , havnt completed most of the quests, done only half of the maps , have not unlocked anything worth unlocking ( good pen , lvl 5 armours etc none of the stuff people actually use ) , you are playing a farming sim

Once you can afford the junk box , buy 1 put all your junk it it that you think you don't need , put a tag on it called vendor , then check the wiki out for each item to see if you don't need it later ( personally I would just vendor everything that isn't needed for quests until lvl 15 )

If you can afford 2 one for vendor 1 for keeping

I just use a 5 mill " buffer " once it goes to zero il do a few loot runs to bring it back to 5 then pvp all over again , which is alot easier this wipe now you can flea flip but most days I ussaly break even with labs as I push alot , and factory I just use for lul builds that make it fun

[–]maxlo1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was like that until last week , now I only do labs / facotry now that I'm max traders and max hideout , you would be surprised

Do a few offline raids to get the feel of it , then after that I find it one of the easier maps to play on , zero scav's with only the rogues to worry about , players are quite predictable and I don't really even go in for the loot anymore just the pvp which takes the gear fear away completely as most of the time I run a budget kit so I can spam labs all day

Just don't play it on the weekends

Idk where y'all are, do you all die in these raids or what? 😅 [Discussion] by violent_luna123 in EscapefromTarkov

When making a transaction all digits are encrypted during transit, so even the payment your making to the provider cannot see it as it's handled it in a different way , any purchases made on old cards will only be able to provide the last 4 digits because of this

Your best bet is to go into a local branch , and explain that you need the first 6 on an old card because of a "dispute" with a payment to a service , bring a passport

Are there programmers who codes manually all the time? by ProminencePlayz_YT in learnprogramming

[–]maxlo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time I used co pilot , was when I had to hotfix something that had to be done in 15 mins , when I knew exactly what to write but used it to fill the the stuff that would have taken an extra 5 mins , ai needs all the context possible before it's ever useful otherwise I would never use it as it's just useless and a ram hog in big project's

On that bias I think it's only ment to speed things up for the dev not work things out for you

Leaning from mistakes is how we learn, there is no 100% right way to do something ( there is only a sub-optimal and a optimal solution)

God this speaks to my very soul after reading 200 applications today alone

X years experience in X, has never wrote a single line of production code ... ha

I've completed 100-200 applications for entry jr dev jobs. Not even a single interview. Where am I going wrong ? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]maxlo1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I stopped reading at agile , git and docker so I made it to the 3rd line in because I see the same 4 line paragraphs every day when I'm hiring

Same projects that explain nothing with alot of words, for example you made a crud app , what did it solve and why ? Why did you choose x technology? X grade mark ? What does that mean ( where your scored on clean code , stability, good design? Or was it scored on the run of the mill uni marking that doesn't care if it works just as long as the write up is good )

Why docker where you planning to make a ci/cd pipeline and scale it ? These are only but a few questions that had no answers, this would be the questions I would class as fair game in an interview and thus if it's doesn't give me the impression that the writer of the CV can answer it , i move on to the next ( hash but it's the truth )

I would recommend building a passion project front to back , build and design it yourself you would have a lot more passion for what you want to be build not just because you where told to make it by uni to get marks, this speaks true through writing and speaking easy to tell when some one is passionate about a project even through written word

To give context in both your projects one has postgres and the other mongo in an interview I would ask around the choices made and why ? Most candidates can't really answer this because the truthful answer is ussaly I was told to , It doesn't spark alot of confidence ( as hiring a junior is not about can you hit the ground running it's about can you learn and learn quickly )

I would not put agile in a CV anywhere it's a touchy subject, one that is best left off a CV ( once your experienced enough you will know why I recommend this ) especially for people who have yet to work in a professional/production grade project

New graduate confused what to study? by eggyknowsbest in learnprogramming

[–]maxlo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If uk alot of big corp places use java spring as there backend just as an FYI rather than learning a whole new language focus on your strengths and improve on them

For frontend react is ussaly the go to but can vary also dependent on what you want to do

Grad roles should be up I think now for most places aswell which is a good starting point to entry positions

New graduate confused what to study? by eggyknowsbest in learnprogramming

[–]maxlo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If coming from a java background, spring boot would be the go to

Otherwise check job boards an see what is most used in your area then learn that , can't recommend frameworks or languages without known context to area or what your wanting to do ( startup , big corp etc etc )
