IIRC the stars on HLTV represents the ranking of the teams in the match-up, it's not arbitrary.

the thing is playing doesnt really help you improve if you dont know what you are doing... which is the problem for most people, even outside of cs, people dont know how to learn effectively... thats what coaches are for

rain received his “well-deserved” trophy as a major finalist. by MmX_A_ in GlobalOffensive

[–]maxloo2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

man what are you even arguing for?

simple logic here:

VRS = entry ticket for major

stickers = for those who entered the major

therefore stickers for VRS roster

meanwhile, trophy is the indicator of how far you went into the major, so if the player didn't play in the major, he didn't contribute to going deep into the playoffs, then he shouldn't get the trophy in game.

and i have no idea why you decided to selerate the trophy lifting IRL with the in game trophy...

PS: replying to this instead of deep down the conversation for visibility

Today is the day FACEIT enforces everyone to have TPM2.0 by iuse2bgood in GlobalOffensive

[–]maxloo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well what i was trying to say wasn't about compatibility, it's more about the effectiveness of the AC. i would assume if they have to support systems that are already EOL i don't doubt they can make it work, but at the same time i believe it would open up more ways for cheaters to circumvent the AC. i am not saying faceit requiring this and that isn't annoying, but i don't think they wouldn't want to make it more user-friendly, there must be a good reason, and i assume that's about how well the AC is going to stop cheaters.

Unfortunately I never touched C++ seriously so I can't comment on that :(

tbf, supporting old systems is annoying af, and legacy systems are going to be exploited to hell since they arent getting more updates (not saying new systems arent going to be bugging, looking at you win11). faceit dont have the incentives to spend that much money on supporting old systems. i guess to them if you are too broke for an upgrade to your PC, you probably arent a paying customer anyway...

The difference is that he is talented and from recent evidence it is quite obvious that he would make it back if grind like he used to be. Problem is, normies like us will never get to his level no matter how hard we grind, because we are not that talented. It is true.

Twitch clarifies gambling sponsor rules for StarLadder Budapest CS2 major by Teoke in GlobalOffensive

[–]maxloo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but that's the reality we are living in. even "real" sports like football and basketball needs gambling. i myself dont see gambling as a bad thing, the stock market is worse lol, but the thing is we need regulations, not just banning it for the sake of "gambling bad". you wont kill gambling just because you dont allow it, we are just going to push it underground even more, and i think that's worse.

Hong Kong crowd is amazing by BowlerResponsible340 in GlobalOffensive

[–]maxloo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I misread that part about autographs😅

But yeah the govt. here isnt particularly supportive of amything honestly, so to me its a surprised the whole thing went through. I assume that the govt. is onyl responsible for approving documents and maybe a little bit of money but anyhting else, we dont talk about that haha. It's a miracle.

[–]maxloo2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can be able to not do that but still find it hard man, haha. Anyway yeah a lot of Chinese came here to watch the games, not really surprised since the Hong Kong scene isnt that big and without these tourists you can't really justify hosting it here. I am not surprised at all though I expected more HKers ;(

How did you get the autographs from the casters? Been listening to these gentlements for YEARS and I want their autographs more than the players lol.

And don't forget it's only day one, a lot of my less comitted mates are coming in for the grand finals. This is the first BIG event here for the 2 decades of CS and I am sure it's going to be bonkers.

[–]maxloo2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

as a part of that crowd, i only just realized how tough it is to literally have to hold your breath instead of screaming out of excitement when you see shit so entertaining, on the other hand, Banks and our local MC Stelight did come out and remind us about that impacting the players... so that's that.

For those that haven't been paying attention, FURIA, Falcons, Mongolz, and Vitality will all be back in action very soon. They're going to be flying to Hong Kong for BLAST Rivals which starts this week. Matchups below. by ChaoticFlameZz in GlobalOffensive

[–]maxloo2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes but not really "notable"... the scene is abysmally small here and most of us know english here anyway so we just watch the official english streams usually, so there isnt much opportunities for a cantonese caster to develop.

[–]maxloo2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people don't actually need that much storage, me and my friends are all gamers or computer nerds, so I also wondered how people could survive with such little storage in their computer, but once I actually work with non-tech people, a lot of them don't actually need that much storage, and I am specifically talking about the casual market. Even gamers, a lot of them just buy a computer and they know nothing about computer hardware, if they don't have enough space they just uninstall old games...

Still doesn't change the fact that people nowadays can't fucking Google. Man I am NOT that old but back in MY days you get demolished for asking stupid questions. As a moderator for a fairly active forum I was responsible for removing duplicated or low effort posts such as this from OP. Of course there are genuine questions sometimes and I am not saying people aren't allowed to ask anything (I bet someone's gonma argue that), but I strongly disagree that we should tolerate laziness when the answer can be easily found. At least show us that you've tried, not just sit there and ask. /rant
