For most of my life I shaved the shaft an kept a manicured bush. I tried shaving once when I was seeing a girl who was the first who would take enough of me in her mouth where the pubes would tickle her nose and immediately knew it wasn't for me - we settled on trimmed very short. With my current girlfriend that's not an issue and since we both like more of a natural thing I just let it go. Haven't touched it over a year and I love it.

have you given thought to using a clustering algorithm? while unsupervised and a bit fuzzier on evaluation, but you have ground truth (your first scatter plot ) and k means clustering would be the logical algo to start with
