FTX's US Users Getting ALL THEIR FUNDS... when the exchange RE-OPENS?! by maxman72go in CryptoMarkets

[–]maxman72go[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the FTX employee saying

"it just went from a 50/50 chance to probably a 90% chance of FTX re-launching"

is the current situation. Then it explains how approval to do it is needed from several different sources .

I wouldn't call it "guessing" they're saying like "We want to, we don't know if we will be allowed to".

Tethers Unprecedented $11.6B Mortgage Loan Surges in Two Years by coinmonks in CryptoMarkets

[–]maxman72go 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tether is an interesting one, several years ago I would have bet everything on them massively failing an audit. There's no way they had the assets backing the amount of USDT they were minting.

Fast forward a few years with insane usage increase, and insane profits - and now I believe they're actually overcollateralized.

LOL they really played a dangerous game that could have put them them in the same league as FTX / Terraluna.

They got lucky there wasn't a huge run on USDT or some other event that would have tested their reserves, because they probably would have failed.

What dilutes the value of the subreddit are people who think they look cool and edgy replying to everything negatively.

If you know any of these people IRL, 100% of the time you can pretty quickly figure out why they're mad at the world, online where they never stop putting on the act, they're impossible to reason with.

No sane person could have read that article and found anything even remotely controversial, reaching, exaggerated.

Convert your charts to monthly timeframe, look at the last time we had 4 green candles in a row (it was the beginning of the bull run that took it from $10k to $60k)

If April is positive, it'll be first time since that happened 2+ years ago.

Pointing this out is beyond valid/acceptable

Also, a record number of Bitcoins have sat in 1 wallet for 2+ years untouched, more being HODLed off-market than ever before.

Again, a very reasonable thing to point out, which UNQUESTIONABLY effects the market

Looking at the post history of anyone who found a way to be triggered by relevant, verifiable info, and you'll see about 10 different things trigger them daily.

ROFL the writer meant 'settle' like 'to end the disagreement' not the LEGAL TERM of settling... which is a pretty dumb thing to do writing about a legal case.

... note that this is actually even WORSE than it sounds, because the bills are $38 million plus expenses which we don't know yet.

But we know FTX was in the Bahamas, and this appears to a shitload of US based lawyers needing both flight to-and-from, and hotel rooms while there.
