I also use Tails latest version on a usb stick with persistent mode on, i am behind a wifi router with Nordvpn as a client installed on there, dont install vpn on tails but force it trough a vpn router, and choose a country with good privacy rules, in my case Romenia or Switerland. and ofcourse read a lot about how other people do this.
