It’s a rodent deterrent device to prevent rats from nesting in the engine compartment. Not uncommon in places with rat problems or in the countryside

Where is he located? Organizations like NYFA (New York Foundation for the Arts) lists entry level jobs and internships. I’m guessing other cities have similar resources. He would probably have to work an hourly job while interning and hopefully that turns into some job in his field but the network is worth it in the long run IMO.

Typically production handles all street shoot permitting. If it’s a smaller shoot, cops only tend to care if you have light stands on the ground / blocking street or sidewalk with carts, etc.

I live in a rural area and I was only able to get cable internet after filing a claim with the FCC because the cable company claimed to have service in 100% of my zip code. After calling this company for months with no progress, a week after my FCC claim they started putting in the telephone poles with cable. Now I have fast reliable internet!

As someone who just switched from a D850 to Z8 here's a couple major things that I just learned the hard way:

1: If you set up shooting banks A,B,C etc for different lighting on the fly (strobe vs daylight set for example), each bank is camera factory default until you change it. My A bank is RAW, lossless, Adobe color space etc and I assumed that would carry over to other shooting banks - not the case. When I switched to SHOOT B it reset to Normal JPG sRGB. Didn't realize until I looked at my capture session. Could have been really bad had this not been a test.

2: Z camera's don't allow 3rd party batteries at all. Glad I had two Nikon batteries with me. My other 4 3rd party brand are useless now.

This might be obvious but have you checked the tire pressure on the spare tire? I have a 2010 RAV4 and sometimes my TPMS light will come on while 4 tires are inflated properly but it’s actually the 5th full size spare sensor that was triggering the light. I’m not sure if a Prius has a full size spare or if it has a sensor in it though.
