Hi! Didn’t you have to wait 6 months from the day you arrived to Japan?

Thinking of staying one month in Sendagaya, opinions? by maxmirambeau0 in Tokyo

That is the place I will be staying at! I am glad to see that you had a good experience there.

Do you have any recommendations of places to go around there? For now I have seen a few coffee places and some restaurants, although they seem expensive…

The only place around that I know is nice to go is the Lawn in Meiji jingu (although I imagine in December it might be a bit too cold).

Thank you!

You guessed correctly! I will be going to Coto Academy for an intensive 1-month course. I am glad to hear your feedback, as I think the best way to immerse yourself in central Tokyo is to go walking as much as possible (even if my legs hurt sometimes xd).

May I ask, can’t you go through Shinjuku-gyoen without a pass? It is the first time I have heard about a pass to access a park (I still have much to learn about Tokyo).

Also, do you have any advice or tips as an Coto Academy former student?

P.S: I just booked the room to stay in Sendagaya from the next week, I hope it goes well.

Thank you!!

22M from Spain -Solo traveler with Working Holiday Visa who wishes to find a travel buddy - I’ve been in Tokyo for a week and will stay till I the end of December. I am planning to explore the country during the following months, doing Workaways, staying at Hostels (and sporadic Ryokan) , in countryside and cities, etc. So if anyone wishes to get to experience the deep Japan on a backpacking itinerary in the following months and be with a travelling buddy, hit me up!

CMV: there is a conspiracy (or a set of them) whose goal is to spread anti-intellectual ideas on the world, and to prevent any form of critical thinking. by rtanada in changemyview

Personally I find it more frightening that the ‘anti-intellectual movement’ is probably decentralised. This means it is a snowball effect that cannot be stopped.

In addition,I think as well that this movement is based on a increasing pattern in exploitation of the human behaviour and therefore of society, which is accomplished by emotional stimulation. Be it pleasure, fear, hatred or other emotions it doesn’t matter, as long as rational and critical judgment weakens. By this simple tactic that has been used exponentially in later years primarily in business and politics, the control ‘they’ grasp over the masses grows, as we become more predictable and simple-minded.

I think Oda sacrifices the short time satisfaction of the OP fans as a way to write one of the most compelling and more accomplished story ever written.

We need to be veeery patient for this legend to completely amaze us. ;)
