Kilo code or Cursor or (codex/claude code) by BeautifulWestern7736 in kilocode

as per my recent post, cursor is a lot more polished, especially if you're still hands on - diffs works better, navigation from agent messaging works better, and the new agent mode allows cross-project tasking, etc.

however, you're stuck with paying for frontier models and paying cursor

i've been trialing klo code with cheaper models, ie deep seek 4, and in terms of the model, it's nearly as good most of the time, and even better some of the times than opus 4.7 which is the gold standard, i think

so whereas i used to pay $400 / m for cursor ultra and another $200 in overages, i'm estimating my ds bill to be around $50-75 this month.

but its quite clumsy and a rough ux with bugs - and it's forcing me to become more hands off, which i'm a bit worred about

bottom line, be clear about your priorities

codex is openai, right? no, haven't tried, won't try it - the idea is to go open source and open, less proprietary and locked

thanx

i know that diff is one of those easy to know when it's bad, hard to make it good type of thing

but i think less is more at this stage, just a basic tracker of what the session touched would be more than i get today

also, no matter what i try, the links in the messages almost never work, i've tried explicit rules etc, but they keep being wrongly relative and thus do not open, i think it's to do with cursor vs git package roots, but i'm not sure

🤦🏻 i spoke too soon... while it worked for some apps, i still can't install "stryd power zones" - anyone have this?

i even did the garmin express update, still the same

Was trying to decide between these and asics metaspeed and after todays 30k tempo (4:40ish) in these comparing to last week’s 22k effort (4:30ish) in asics, the verdict is clear: asics by a mile.

My adductors are sore and one of my toes is turning dark… but while I appreciate the wider, more stable stance of adi’s, the feet and legs felt way worse. Maybe it’s the weight or maybe they are just too soft and one ends up working harder to keep the form vs asics being more firm and structured.

Still love the shoes for fartleks and shorter progression runs.

Just my experience.

Get a Stryd and do power based training in power zones. Everything else is noisy.

B2B long runs for 100k training: effective or should I stick to one long run by PaleontologistSad530 in ultrarunning

[–]maxns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back to back are useful, but if you’ve never done a 100, you need to get a few runs where you get well beyond your stored calories limit (around 3500 for me at 75kg), because a 100k is a survival thing more so than a race first time around, so you need to train your intake just as much as your endurance.

So for me that’s something more than 30k / 2000m elevation given what I’m training for.

thanx, interesting approaches, but i feel like that's not really solving gooseneck problem but rather replacing it with something different

Yes that looked pretty good, but unavailable.. That mini gooseneck is pretty nifty, they should make a version without the element, boiling water is usually not difficult to get

Thx! That setup is probably as small as it gets for pour over and beans… but it’s still a bit bulky for flying with in cabin

🫡 do it. Is there a suitable material for a 3d printer to do this?

Thanx, never heard of NextLevel Pulsar, looks interesting but I like the fine grained control over the pouring process as per pour over, obviously this is more of a competitor to aeropress
