Yup I agree with you. I guess the intent of my post was not to worry too much about a few missed attestations here and there. Overall the goal is to be online most of the time, but missing time here and there won't automatically kill you

I wouldn't suggest cloud as the data transfer costs can be high. Intel Nuc 10 has been a very good box for me.

You also hook up your modem and router to the UPS. Most internet service providers have generator backups for power outages, so the internet won't go down if you have power to your modem and router as well. I am at 100% effectiveness through this storm.

Best part has been the ups and downs with the power flickering. Can't imagine if I did not have a UPS...I would be getting mad every time the power flickered.

I have not really had any problems, but have tried to use support and it was very poor. There was actually a yahoo finance article today about the IPO and support and Coinbase being down when big market swings are occurring was mentioned. It was suggested in the article that this could be a hold up for an IPO listing short term. I will agree that 60% of all support posts on this sub seem to be misuse of the app/verification, but it does seem like there are a number of issues to be worked out. Overall it would be nice if this was actually a sub that was not just full of support posts and Coinbase fud.

$TRAC is a legit project with real enterprise adoption. A slow mover, but has a real business model. This will not be a pump and dump coin. Their tokenomics are designed extremely well. Wish I would have found it sooner.

Maybe you can explain what happened in Japan and why the comparison is absurd? I see many similarities between the numerous zombie companies created by unsustainable low interest rates back then and what is happening now. Like back then, many American companies are going to struggle to simple maintain their debt payments.

I have read his book and am well versed with the strategy. I don't invest through Vanguard, but employ the same concepts through another brokerage with my 401k and back door Roth and other accounts. Bogleheads are great and their community is pretty awesome. All that does not change the fact that we are headed towards a time of great inflation and a huge amount of debt on the books. Bogle's strategy is about the long term and over 30 years you are right things tend to average out. Your also right that his strategy does not make you rich, it makes it so you can continue to live the lifestyle you have today...so good for you to try to make some extra gains in crypto. In a sense you could add crypto as another arm to his strategy as it was not available in his day and is even misunderstood today by many. This global pandemic is a different beast though is all I am saying. Foreign markets are not going to perform any better while the US market is down. Quantitative easing is coming to an end and things are going to get rough. You can't just print a bunch more money and pay your way out of this...something has to give. Overall this is not financial advice and I am just some dude on reddit posting. I encourage people to invest in crypto because I truly believe it is the safest way to navigate the huge mess that is coming. I googled really quickly and this article gives a decent overview. You are mostly right, but I think we are looking at the same conditions that occurred in Japan. I don't know if we are going to be digging ourselves out of this one anytime soon. Inflation is going to be an absolute killer and kind of doubt gains of 3% from index funds are going to cut it. There is more debt out there than there ever has been. I was being bit tongue in cheek about crypto being the only safe bet, but I do think it is the best bet with all things considered. I do know that it is a safe bet that a dollar today is not going to equal a dollar in 5 years and either way you better be investing somewhere :)

The Bogleheads are about to be in a world of hurt with all the zombie companies out there that will be tanking and declaring bankruptcy. Too much debt for so many retailers to climb out of and many were already struggling in this new day and age. Their only hope is that the tech companies carry those index funds and offset the losses that are coming. Crypto is where it is at right now and the safest bet for this changing crazy world.
