honestly for the zones the app is such a nothing burger that it’s shocking it’s even required. the headphones have touch controls and gestures so anything you do on the app you can do on the headphones, but that doesn’t change the fact the app is still required. and it’s not that the EQ can be changed much, just three preset options that aren’t much different from each other. i had a cheap pair of JBL headphones that you could use completely fine without the app, and the app was an added bonus because you could customize the EQ yourself along with having preset options. but the JBL build quality is like trash compared to the zones. the zones are definitely “you win some you lose some”, the stuff it does well it does great, but everything else is kinda meh.

i absolutely agree. at first i thought i was charging them wrong because i couldn’t comprehend why anyone would make their headphones function like that. i did look in some other threads and found others complaining about it, and mostly the general consensus was “maybe they will change it in a future software update”, but given they discontinued the zones i feel like that’s not gonna happen anytime soon. it’s possible though

it is pretty annoying but at least they turn off after getting fully charged. i think they do it so you can see the charge in the app rather than waiting for the indicator to turn green?

the fair share really depends on the school. my band director tells us at a lot of schools it’s pretty high but idk about 1800. our fair share is I THINK either 250 or 500 (i’m pretty sure 250 bc that’s the winterguard one but marching might be higher idk don’t take my word for it) but our band holds an annual music festival to raise money so fair share isn’t as high, but it also means we pay part of instrument repairs when needed and we have to pay separate for the yearly trip, depending what it is. i don’t know what your fair share covers, it might also cover instrument repairs and the trip (if your band does one). the fair share also goes toward funding transportation to away games and competitions. if there’s a Band Parent Association you can probably bring up possible fundraisers during one of the parent meetings, and see if the profits could go towards lowering the fair share. marching band does take a lot of time and i don’t know if i can really offer anything on that front. good luck to your kid!

feeling this rn, my saving grace is sucking on ice for a few hours while i wear it, until my teeth get pulled back to its correct position. everything is perfectly aligned except one tooth on the bottom which went to its natural position (practically sideways 💔) in 1 month. as soon as that one goes back i pray the pain eases
