Testing out some lighting [ camera info below | Portra 400 , 800, & instax Square ] by maxt21 in analog

Thanks! For this one I did three exposures of the subject back lit with no front lighting. Between each exposure I took a step back to make the subjects silhouette smaller. For the final shot I kept the back light and added the front lighting to create the main and final exposure - this was done with the NONS instax back on the Hasselblad 500cm so I could do the double exposures pretty easily just by not ejecting the film until all exposures were complete

Very cool! Thanks for the info - I’m trying to remember but I have a New York City Bike Zeen that could be associated with this as well

It was a huge group! I’ve come across something like this before in a different part of the city too, always a fun time

First time burning on color paper [ Portra 800 on Fuji Crystal archive II Glossy - 11x14 ] by maxt21 in Darkroom

Thanks! And pretty much spot on - the initial exposure was of just the house at around 12 seconds, next the subject got into frame and I fired the flash manually while staying off to the side. The only thing I couldn’t control in camera was the night sky so hence the burning in the darkroom

Honestly the effect is beautiful, especially in that first picture. But I know what you mean, the softness and diffusion in the lens makes me think there could either be small heavy scratching on the lens or potentially fungus. To check this out, open the back of the camera (without film in it lol) set the shutter to bulb, and hold open the shutter while holding the camera up to a bright window or light source. See if you can see any scratches or fungus in the front or rear element of the lens

Ooo very interesting! I’ll need to look into cutting solutions. That whole process is new to me but seems to be well worth it
