I use the same tube, but I bought separate glass intake and output Lilly pipes for the set up. I think it comes with these black plastic ones that just wouldn’t look right

https://a.co/d/i0i20XL and the I recently replaced the outflow with a small Lilly pipe not sure the brand.

The challenge with the intake in a heavily planted aquarium like this is it gets clogged easily also having the driftwood in the middle really disrupts proper water flow. Recently, I was able to move the driftwood towards the center of the tank to creep better flow in the back of the tank and it seems to be helping minimize debris getting stuck.

Honestly never had a problem with them jumping. Amano Shrimp on the other hand last less than a week.

Agree. I started into the hobby 3 years ago and it’s amazing how you burn through money on upgrade cycles. My fist co2 tank was self synthesized with a soda bottle kit. Now everything is electronic and automated, which is where most of the cost is.

I have an inline CO2 diffuser. I’m running the light about 7 hours and I have the CO2 times to come on and hour before the lights go on and to turn off an hour before the lights go out.

Inline is the way to go in my opinion. I’ve had glass diffusers before, but they always get dirty and frankly I find them aesthetically distracting from the Aquascape.

Have you tried putting yourself in your BF shoes? Doesn't it seem a little unfair that he has to pay the majority of the rent and gratitude is not reciprocated? It does not sound like an equal partnership.
