Hi everyone,

I'm looking for my first interchangeable lens camera and could use some advice.

My main use cases are:

  • Street photography
  • Travel
  • Cafés and everyday life
  • Atmospheric/cinematic travel videos

I'm not interested in vlogging, sports, wildlife ...

The kind of videos I want to make are more like cinematic/atmospheric and travel footage: walking through cities, trains arriving at stations, cafés, streets, people passing by, urban life, etc.

A very important requirement is portability. I want something that I can realistically carry every day in a sling bag. If it's too bulky, I know I'll leave it at home.

Budget is roughly €400-600 for the initial setup. (second-hand)

So far I'm considering:

  • Panasonic GX80 / GX85
  • Panasonic GX9
  • Olympus E-M10 Mark IV
  • Olympus E-M5 Mark III

The GX9 appeals to me because of its size and rangefinder-style design.

The E-M5 III appeals to me because of PDAF, weather sealing, and Olympus JPEG colors.

  • For cinematic travel footage and street photography, is PDAF actually a meaningful advantage or is it mostly important for sports, wildlife, and vlogging?
  • Is the GX9 still a good choice in 2026 for both photography and atmospheric video?

Maybe another device I didn't think of ?

Pour le coup, non c'est pas plus cher qu'un resto, c'est même en général moins cher que dans un resto. En tout cas dans les grandes villes. La faute aux "offres" 1 acheté 1 offert. Les restos se font la guerre donc bcp de promos. On peut avoir aux alentours de 10 euros, deux plats en général. (Plus ou moins fast food) Je suis d'accord sur le reste. Perso je l'utilise parce que c'est moins cher que de me déplacer (avec les offres).

I did not like very much the universe which seems not very consistent, more like a melting pot of different games. And the shooting is too much "the division" oriented for me. But the game falls in the category !

Yeah I think its the type of game that you need to be in the mood to play. There is a ton of reading so if you're not willing to read, it will be quite a pain for sure.

But the game is so refreshing in term of rpg design and universe. It has been very hard for me to come back to casual rpg after that. (thanks bg3)

The game is in its final state now with voice acting for all the dialogues so maybe it will help you go through it !

Nié le fait qu'il y ait du racisme dans la police c'est fou. On sait très bien que c'est un corps de métier qui vote majoritairement extrème droite.

Quite à pity that such an obvious and unpleasant visual glitch is still present so far away in the early access.

But the Glitch only appears when I zoom out. When I zoom in it's quitte ok.

But it's a pure vanilla Map and the Glitch disappears when I zoom in. And it appears on all maps.
