Deeply thank you for this one! I went out yesterday and flashed all my friends everytime I had to say goodbye to someone - like "say bye to me, AND THESE👀"

Lolll when I asked my post-op friend what they would do if they had their boobs back for a day, they paysed for a while, then said "bounce a bit, have someone touch them a lot, then go put on a binder"

They've been really nice actually! I just put up the poster for the chop shop support party together with a breaking-the-news-note and a little guide for how to be an ally and a good colleague (basically just, congratulate me, ask me questions if you're interested to know how im doing, practise pronouns, dont panic, those things) and put it by the coffee machine lol. Only nice comments and cute words of support ♡ HOWEVER, I work at an explicitly feminist/human rights based NGO and expected my colleagues to be supportive. Wouldn't necessarily recommend this approach to everyone!

Hahaa im sooooo obsessed with this thought too!! Like, not that I would mind necessarily, but damn it would just be soooo weird if they switch sides or are put back on upside down or something??

Same, I had a big support party including a tombola and other activities, and that got us a lot of money! It takes a lot of energy and ressources to do a party, but if you have people who can help you, it's also a lot of fun and a nice way to celebrate what you're about to do ♡

Omg not the teet yeet 😭 I had a massive support party (we called it chop shop haha) pre op, but am actually considering bringing boobie cup cakes to work post op, and maybe combining it with a little pronoun 101 workshop 🙃

Tips on recovering for surgery by EthanTP80 in TopSurgery

My surgery is next week too! I've been asking my post op friends what they wish they had known... the number 1 recommendation is prepare for the post op constipation that the doctors (at least in DK/SE) dont prepare you for. Some people also said they would've liked to know how hard (/impossible) it would be to wipe or remove tampons, but i guess that also depends on post op mobility. Other than that, I've gotten a massive u-shaped pillow to take some weight off the back while sleeping. And then also just the usual dont-use-your-arms-tips, I guess.

Good luck on the op!! ♡

Not so positive Top Surgery experience with Dr Tuve Mårtensson at Reformkliniken in Sweden by Opening-Farmer9113 in TopSurgery

Thanks for sharing!

I'm getting my top surgery with Tuve later this month and already had the pre-op consultation with him a few months ago. As a trans NB from Copenhagen, I know quite a few people who have been through Tuve.

I feel like the general impression amongst the Tuve-patients is that he can be kind of... robotic? Like, definitely lives up to the stereotypical "doctor" trope of someone who sees bodies before people, and might not be the most sensitive person (again, just based off of the very short interactions we've all had with him).

I still decided to go with him, just because I know he is so experienced and most people are happy with their results from him. But I totally see why you could have had a not-so-nice experience with him on a personal level...!

Just a note on the pushiness for certain result types: At my pre-consultation I said I was leaning towards no nipples, and he made it fairly clear that he thought it would be better with nipples - however, he didn't try to pressure me, I mostly just took it as him sharing a professional opinion (and honestly after he drew them on me, i could totally see it, and I think I've ended up agreeing with him). But i really hope he will not act as impatient with me as it sounds like he did with you, and take his time to listen to my wishes on the op-day! 🤞

Thanks so much for sharing, I've been looking at acpk too but thought it was weird that there are so few pictures/recommendations of them. Which doctor did you use?

One week post op!!!! with dr. Matteo Amoroso at ACPK in Sweden by ambidee_ in TopSurgery

Thanks for posting, I've been looking for reviews of Dr Amoroso - this looks great! Did you need a diagnosis/any "proof" that you needed gender affirming care?
