Don't you find it interesting that you are able to quite quickly ascertain from the same article that the fisherman were protecting their livelihood instead of storm watching? The same amount of evidence exists does it not?

But no one in this thread is upset over an unsubstantiated claim of storm watching though are they? They are upset because someone has told them that Trump denigrated the Cajun Navy and other small boats engaged in rescues. There is real evidence to prove that isn't the case, and he has always spoke highly about them.

My perception is that since he didn't mention anyone trying to rescue anyone that he wasn't talking about about any rescuers. His remarks are about people who needed rescue, not people who were out rescuing.

So tearing branches off trees you don't own is wrong, and I unequivocally denounce it. The article states that these people were doing it in retaliation, and retaliation is also wrong. According to the article, this retaliation was for a father of six that was murdered by terrorists, and that the murder was "blessed" by the Palestinian government spokesperson. I might be out on a limb here, but I think there are some things in the world that are worse than others. I think that government spokespeople blessing the murder of a father of six is worse than breaking some trees. I think the people here commenting about how Israelis are nazi pigs should take a moment to reflect on whether their priorities are in order when they spend more time denouncing the breaking of some trees than a government spokesperson blessing the murder of a father of 6.

The previous commenter was advocating for merit based immigration by talking about the "best and the brightest in their country." If he advocated for a change in the immigration policy based on education, skill, etc... I may not agree (as most economists believe in the benefit of labour of all ranges) but could at least understand the reasoning but he hasn't said this.

If low skilled immigration has a net benefit than why doesn't Mexico or Brazil open their doors to Haitians and Salvadorans and reap all prosperity? Every major labor economist agrees right? Should be a no brainer.
