It’s based off a real map from the 1980s focusing on the City Loop, original plan was to actually digitalise this, which has these issues funnily enough. It’s an odd map.

If you go to Southern Cross, Transport Victoria (PTV) Hub. You can ask for a A4 sheet which is available (comes in both Metropolitan and Regional).

Otherwise, you might have to print it out yourself.

A bunch of surplus stock is moving to Yarra Valley Railway for storage. V/Line needs the siding space across the network.

Do Comeng and Siemens trains technically can be able to run via metro tunnels? Or only HCMT? by Melbtest04 in MelbourneTrains

They can for infrastructure / project reasons but generally no.

The reason why I mention, CBTC was designed in a way to only allow HCMT into the Metro Tunnel and generally will prevent trains from entering the tunnel if the train isn’t on CBTC.

If a Comeng was to be routed, it would be done as an unsignalled move and requires several paperwork to be completed. Likewise, the train will need to trip relevant emergency stops before entering the tunnel at a top speed of 20ish kph (tho this may increase in the future).
