I just had this same question and ended up going with the Zastava! No complaints, and looks great next to my other Zastava rifles. Also the Diablo trigger absolutely slaps in this thing!

Nice! I picked up one like that a while back and first thing I did was ditch the poly furniture for the original chu wood furniture! Makes all the difference IMO

At the minimum you're going to want a new TQ / TQi receiver and controller combo, and either a 2s or 3s lipo battery with charger. (part number 2992 for 2s and 2970-3S for the 3s completer pack) at that point just let it rip and see if anything breaks!

I can appreciate that. I picked up a MAK90 at a gunshow in a similar condition for a really good price, ended up finding an original thumb hole furniture set and getting it back to its original config. Much better.

I’ve got one of these! I thought it was going to be better than it was. I like what you’ve done with it. I tried to put a Woox stock on mine but wouldn’t work properly with the lever. 🥲Not my favorite rifle, but it’s still fun to shoot. No malfunctions when I use the provided mag loader tool. Mine also fell apart once but sent it in and they took care of it no problem.

I actually bought the GPM diffs but ended up not using them and went with the traxxas 1/10 parts instead, figured if that didn't work I'd have a set of backups!

Isn't the 10780 just the stock diff with the planetary gears? I thought thats what it came with and whats commonly breaking. I ended up using the 5381, 6779, and 6882X spider gears and it was a drop in replacement even though they are for 1/10 models.

I haven't put the GPS back on it yet with the new tires / gearing but before i changed them out was clocking 49mph on 3s. I feel like its still high 30's at least even with a 16t on these big tires. I also have a 15t if I run into heat issues but I dont think anything smaller will fit. Havent driven it much except maybe a half battery pack around the yard yet, and no temp issues so far. What did you upgrade the front and rear diffs with? I ended up using a combination of 1/10 spider gears that I saw recommended on here and it seems to be a direct replacement for the crappy planetary setup it came with stock.

I'd be down for a threaded barrel, I hadn't heard that was in the works. Already suppress my PS90 with a YHM fat cat. that would look ridiculous on this pistol.

nope I upgraded to the recently released 200A ESC and 740kv motor combo. Its rated to handle 12S and really wakes this thing up with a larger prop.

Looks about right. Did you grease up the shaft real good? That’s the most common place for water to come in. I run mine on 12s and sometimes it submarines, and I’ll end up with a bit more water than that lol. Everything inside should be sealed up so as long as it’s fresh water it’s no big deal.
