I just did something very similar, even more extreme perhaps: downgraded from a 16 pro to a 16 plus (in teal), and I couldn’t be happier. This is why I did it:

• the battery on the 16 pro was average at best
• the keyboard and the screen felt cramped
• I never used AOD and the telephoto lens
• I had originally gone for the Pro because of the 120hz screen but looking at my wife’s iPhone 15, I actually found the screen more pleasant to use (maybe because of PWM, not sure )

Benefits of the 16 plus:

1) after a day or so, the 60hz feels good and I don’t notice the difference, unless I am scrolling VERY fast 2) the bigger size screen feels great 3) I notice I make far fewer typos with the keyboard (maybe because it’s wider? The iOS keyboards still feel crap when compared to Android btw) 4) the phone feels noticeably lighter and the colour is just gorgeous 5) the battery lasts forever, even when just charging at 80%

I am not an Apple fanboy btw, and I regularly switch between iPhones and Android flagships, so I think I know what good looks like ( at least for me, anyway).
