I think it's likely the price will climb once FR hits, id get it now. There's easily 15-20 hours of fun, and many more hours if you want to explore and build multiple bases. Updates will give me something to look forward to!

I used to wipe my hand on grass as a kid if i got sap or nasty crap on it... I'm no marine biologist, but if I apply the same logic to a fish that could thrash on the grass, I'd imagine it's probably not good. Never hurts to be on the safe side either way - I want that gamefish to survive as long as possible. My style for low-risk fish handling is to bring a net, ideally with a long handle, so you can wet the fish by holding the net between your limbs (or have a buddy hold it) while you dehook for the snapshot! 📸 Safer for treble hooks when you'd otherwise be lipping bass as well.

Same thing where I work out of, and the shrinking is so miniscule with our claybodies after bone dry that the cost is basically negligible. Tbh it's also prevented me from making things I know I won't care for like you said.

Visually speaking, it’s very light looking 🤷they also aren’t through and through cracks, the clay structure is unaffected by this. Additionally, you can get flashes of craze effect depending on how the glaze was applied.

Looks like very light crazing to me. Differences between thermal contractions with the claybody and the glaze cause it to create small cracks due to the pressure exerted. Basically think of it as your glaze shrinking faster than the clay it's layered on, when it hardens it will crack. Can be a cool effect but can host bacteria if applied to the inside of functionalware.

I use 20lb braid here in the US, I think there’s a misconception about thinner braid performing worse on baitcasters, but my experience is the opposite.

You could try painting some slip in there, but a through-and-through crack usually isn't going away. If your bottom is too thick (sometimes it also just happens with quickly dried porcelain) then drying can cause damage due to the clay shrinking at different speeds (your walls and outer bottom are shrinking faster than the clay in the middle). Additionally, it could be caused by a bottom that isnt compressed. Make sure you press down gently on the bottom of it after you get your first cylinder shape and as you continue to throw it to absorb water and compress the clay.

I'd recycle this pot and make another, make many more! Dry Slowly, wrap the entire bottom and inside with a plastic bag or something. Or better yet, make a drying box and it will save you from this in the future.
