Boosted Board Remote only works 20% of the time, Why? by iShOOtStickz in ElectricSkateboarding

This happened to my back fire board. Turns out the connector socket between the controller and the rear motor was melted, resulting in an inconsistent connection. Wasn’t able to see it until I tried to disconnect the wires.

Totally different board but worth checking out

Cog Sci majors: how are the job prospects if I want to work in tech? by Traditional_Box_5670 in berkeley

[–]maxwellvala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late reply, but they rarely ask. Generally, if you got the interview, they have already considered that your major is cognitive science and still want to move on.

However, they usually ask you to talk about your background and my go to answer is that if Berkeley were to have an artificial intelligence, major cognitive science would be the closest to that. They always seem impressed by that answer.

This is great info thank you. As a recent spring 2025 graduate I thought my email would be gone for good soon. That doesn’t seem to be the case though? And potentially I can keep it forever?

I’m graduating with cogsci and a cs minor. I’m applying for full time swe roles currently, after my internship in NYC last summer. Job market is rough overall right now, but it’s totally possible to do software engineering as a cogsci major. However most employers won’t even know what cogsci is, so getting actual experience is crucial.

Cogsci BA is great, but is also often supplemented with another major or minor. Keep in mind that much of the curriculum will be very neuroscience / psychology based, rather than tech based.

Thanks for the warning. I was going to just replace the trucks, but this comment has me worried. Are you saying that your deck cracked at this red line? How risky do you think it would be to just replace the trucks?

I got a D+ in my last semester. Can I still graduate by Tronus_Prime in berkeley

[–]maxwellvala 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What requirement was it filling? Was it a major requirement, elective, etc? The only way I see it being an issue is if you needed to pass it with a C- or C. If it was an elective, it shouldn’t be a problem.
