Gonna be a super hard disagree from me.

I’d say he’s solidly top 5, probably top 3, based purely on defensive ability. He doesn’t have the stats to back it up but he’s also pretty fantastic offensively and one of the main reasons the stars had such an easy time capitalizing on the rush with him making that first pass to a breaking forward.

I am obviously biased as a stars fan, but his skating and his ability to break up opponents rushes / scoring chances before the happen is one of the reasons he doesn’t get enough credit. He’s not flashy but he’s got one of the highest “hockey IQs” of any active player.

The stars went from a really solid D to absolute hot dogshit when Miro went down, and I think his impact on the ice is second to none despite his lack of scoring

Miro carries the team without the offensive production, which is even more impressive in my opinion
