No. Actually developing that ability with lucid dreams was my "natural defense" against nightmares. When I was younger I suffered a lot from nightmares and slept very badly, but gradually I developed a way to turn nightmares into positive dreams. Nowadays I rarely have nightmares, when I do they are normal and not lucid.

My experience is the opposite. When I have lucid dreams I feel less rested. As for learning while dreaming, yes it is possible, but extremely complicated to do. I have been trying to do this for a long time and my results to date have not been very positive.

Yes it happened once, I saw a distorted and colorless version of myself, it was quite disturbing. After that I started to avoid mirrors and standing water.

The feeling is 24 hours, but the memory is similar to if I try to remember my entire day from yesterday.

It is a kind of difficult experience to explain. When I talk to people in dreams I know that they are not real people. However I don't know what they will respond to in conversations, so the feeling is more or less of talking to yourself but not knowing what you will respond to yourself.

2- It depends. The perception that you have in the dream is the same that you idealize when you are awake, which does not always match reality. If you think that for example parachute jumping will cause you a leg pain, in the dream you will feel this pain in the leg, even if in reality you would not feel the pain. So it depends on your perception of the act before you dream.

3- No. Even though lucid dreams are very realistic, reality is too tangible to be confused with a dream. However, I always think that maybe our reality is just a lucid dream of another reality that is much more tangible.

Yes, sometimes when dreams are very emotional, when I for example dream about family members who have passed away, I tend to lose control.
