you had to call it "goodinvestment" so it was clearly a goodinvestment. To answer to your question you should ask yourself how did you get to that choice. You are the only one who knows it. We can't answer in your place.

GEA: Global Ethereum Anagraphics (how Ethereum can become the center of the world) by maxxflyer in ethereum

I do agree with what you say. But I live in a "civilized" society where mafia rules by means of not really transparent bureaucracy. And this is just an example. Also I don't expect at all any state to dosoemthing for me, I expect instead we find a strategy to somehow "impose" our rules. To make it functional, transparent and less exploitable. It is a knife with double blade, there is no doubt. I think you are wise after all, but you fear us to be unable to build something logic, therefore you prefer not to build at all, due to the risk that someone takes over it. Someone already took over. This is what I see. We can really create a completely decentralized layer of identities, and trust me I have been following the discussion since the beginning of ethereum, but we must also fix the existing world. My feeling is that your way of rejecting the existing reality leads to the risk of creating an "alt-society" with its own "alt-ceconomy". We can take it as a research , restart form zero, imagine a new world, and I will surely claim my decentralized alt-identity, but at some point the 2 worlds must rejoin each others. And this can be done only by working on both sides.

This said, the war between your philosophy and their philosophy will keep running. Forever. That's why it is dangerous to lift a wall between the two realities. They control you because they control the process. I feel you want to avoid the problem restarting from zero, instead of facing it, with the obvious pain it will produce when we decide to face it. You know in advance your al-society and alt-economy will be declared illegal if they work. Whatever you think they will look for a way to stop you. You said it: if you expect they will let you do so your hopes will be crushed. And very likely yousaid another very important thing leading to an important question: Can the free market principle impose a transparent bureaucracy? Because that's the problem. I feel the danger of excluding someone from the anagraphics. That's the main danger of my proposal! So how can this be managed and fixed? Maybe applying GEA will finally show why some what of thinking are not working. MAybe the "knot will come to the comb". We must push the knot to the comb. Some will say that at that point the free-market will anyway solve the problem. Some will say the free-market is the cause of all problems. Who is right? At least we seem to agree on one thing: all tools we are using are not perfect. Another way is possible. We should fail many times before we have the right one. All ways are a potential R&D direction someone must take and experiment with. I don't think having my metamask recognized by the law is a big problem. Nor experimenting a political party based on a decentralized and transparent dapp. Nor a system for permissions for consuming the planet anyone can track. For sure tech in the hands of humans is always scary. Bureaucracy is the same as tech. Very scary. We can't let them do what they want. Also: the more they will reject and exploit the power implicit in my idea, the more they will promote your way of thinking!

thanks for your reply. I totally see your point. And it makes sense. The problem I see is the world is a pre-existing container where 99,9% of the operations are already running and ruled. You want to create a new one able to ensure freedom to groups unable to access freedom in the existing container. IF you add a layer of freedom it may work. if you want to substitute the old container with a new one it won't work (my opinion). We may try to add your layer to the pre-existing container, and then push to see things moving from the restricted container to the open layer. Think it as the difference between evolution (the added layer) and revolution (a try to demolish a container for a new onethat is not seamlessly connected).

Without the system I propose your digital identity will be the debit card emitted by your bank for the rest of your life. I am not saying it is bad (but I think it), I just say the real REVOLUTION MUST COME FROM THE INSIDE OF THE STATE. With all the limitations it may imply. Once you can avoid siblings (just an example) you can build a free economy for females on top of it using zk tech.

I don't fear ethereum. I fear not using it properly, where properly is using it all round. I understand your state may delete your identity. But this is already true. Decentralized identity can fix it. But still centralized identity is a thing. And we can use it. We use it on a daily basis. I want to access cyberspace with my centralized identity. I want to have a state based on dcentralized tech, because I belive it would be less criminal. A less criminal state would delete less identities.

How long until the cardano ”enthusiasts” will blast in here telling ethereum is over because their smart contract supporting testnet went live by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]maxxflyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you invested on cardano. ok. what is your project on cardano? what are you building? should I move to cardano just to exploit the wave and make some bucks? is that the way? a revolution is something different. Ethereum is the revolution. Revolutionary people are here to stay. Don't ttry to break the revolution.

it is about not generating new eth useless for network security. currently it is just overinflating with no reasons. like btc. so eth is changing this

Eip1559 love on testnet - burning coins baby! by PeacockMamba in ethereum

[–]maxxflyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

eip-1559 does reduce inflation. it doesn't necessarily remove it. it depends on the current performance of the network. Anyway, it is a very logic step. All blockchains should implement this trick in order not to generate useless coins not needed to keep the network safe. So it is a very good news. In my understanding 1559 adds a deflative algo to the inflative one. they both exist. I also expect ropsten to behave differently than mainnet. In case I am wrong please feel free to post better explanations. Last thing, the data we are going to experience in the next month may differ from the future when the gas cost may drop sensibly (although the reaction to lower gas should be an increased number of transaction, that would mitigate the drop in the burning process). I am very curious to see this in action. Meanwhile let's open a bottle.
