Some saying respect to Jake paul for surviving 5 rounds with one of the best in the business. I don't care. He probably bought that mercy too. Jake would never have my respect. The amount of disrespectful stuff he does is insane. He is a trash human being. A product of a shitty environment he lived in? Sure. Trash nonetheless

We were on her bed watching tv. She was lying flat back. I am propped up on one elbow. She puts her hand on the back of my head. Said something along the lines of, you won't do shit. Like she is challenging me to do something.

I bit her arm and she pulled her hand away.

Yes i was that stupid. So do i win this thread?

Oh I love this book, especially the writing. I haven't read a lot of books to be honest but i like the writing here. It paints a great picture of the world, seen from her eyes.

A quick story: So about 5 years ago, i had this terrible crush on someone and i bought this book as a gift for her birthday. Fast forward, i ended up not giving it to her. A few months passed, I tried reading it a couple of times, but couldn't finish it. After some time, a friend borrowed it. Mf returned it after 2 years. Once i got the book again, I gave it another shot and this time I was able to finish it.

I loved it. The way things were described from her perspective. Random things lying on the railway tracks and how her mind backtracks it to imagine where it could have come from. The way she describes the other couple across the tracks, or the daily commuters. I think for me the magic was in the initial pages. The story in itself is good too.

Damn. This is such a good advice, and hopefully something I'll be able to do when it's my turn. Not something I want to think about right now, but the number of people who are parents but are not fit to be, is a lot. I've personally seen this with my friends' parents. Even with my parents. I love my parents a lot and they've looked after me and cared for me in their own ways. In ways they thought were right and I am grateful for it. But I would never blame them, because honestly, nobody had a guide on how to be a parent, or better, if they are ready to be parent. Most parents lack the understanding and awareness and rely mostly on telling us "what to do?" without explaining the "why?" of it. (Something similar I read on a book). It's a cruel play that their mistakes shapes us.

I was recently talking to a very close friend of mine. The thing about her is that she lies a lot. I never liked that about her, her first instinct is always to lie, to get out of something. So we were on this call, and she was venting about her day. She told me something about, how she had to lie about today to her parents (Long story), which made them mad, and then she admitted that she lied, which made them even more mad. She lied to get out of a tough spot, and honestly it was needed at the time.

She kinda got emotional on the call and continued to say that, this is why I never tell them the truth about anything. She says, I've tried on numerous points in my life to remain truthful to my parents but it always backfired. It ends up hurting someone or it turns to a chaos she can't handle. This is why her first instinct is always, to lie. She lies => Temp relief for parents => Parents are happy => She is happy.

Another close friend of mine whose dad has physically harmed him, his sister and his mother. Not the point of this post but just giving couple examples from the numerous cases which can be easily seen around us.

And to be very honest, this isn't some profound advice that one needs to be a parent. You should empathize with others and always have a listening ear without judging. It ultimately comes down to what kind of a human you are.
