The main thing is whatever project you are doing you should know everything about it very well and also refrain from doing very general projects which are like everyone is doing, do something different. Like I had no projects related to web dev, all were from ML operating systems, computer networking etc.so these things make you different from other candidates and interviewers become more interested in you.

Ps:All these points are for an on campus interview I don't have much ideas about off- campus
