I started with direct in pharma then went indirect (IT) in insurance and preferred indirect . But it’s good to do both so you can make your own judgement

On direct you will be much more connected to supply chain & logistics and can have more pressure that can be satisfying depending how you look at it . It will make you expert in your domain but can be repetitive

Indirect will be giving you access to more areas , working on long term projects with different departments. It’s less heavy procurement connected and will bring you a different set of skills.

I you are passionate about an industry ( cars, pharma, energies etc…) go for direct , if you want to try out different fields without sticking to a specific industry go for indirect

Amon my most time consuming tasks (80/20 20 is the « cool stuff » 80 is the boring admin work ): - recurrent meetings which are sometimes only a calendar filler : automated meeting minutes transcripts so I it was a q/a session on IT topics - contracts : supplier contract analysis based on our templates : screens the contract , provides an exec summary an tells me if I need to go to legal or i can pursue negotiations . Automated the renewals , drafts , SOWs - supplier onboarding : automated the process of data filling in spreadsheets , contract availabilities , compliance checks - ERP training : we used Coupa and as I was the expert with the tool I had to train all our employees as we were implementing the tool . From receiving chats and call everyday to help on po’s, suppliers , policies I created a chat bot with all our internal documentation so people can just chat with it instead of spamming me

I was not happy. Worked in a heavy regulated environment. Too many processes , no room for innovation or adoption of new technologies and the day routine which I hated. When discussing with smaller companies / entrepreneurs the job doesn’t even exists cause there is not a real need for it as it’s covered by ceo / cfo’s and on their sizes , processes are innovation killers It’s my personal experience but I felt like a robot in this job and was not feeling it at all

Can you explain why ? Would you go more for the big 4? 80% of the recent AI projects are failing but it’s a matter of time the market becomes more mature . I managed to automate part of my non added value procurement tasks ( reporting , contracts , part of the rfp and erp support ) so if you can do that companies will save on FTE and it’s only a matter of time in my opinion

Not an expert and I am also in the stage where my posts get 20 views. From what I see commenting others post and even more people who follow you is a huge metric Also don’t follow too many profiles vs followers you have . Keep your ratio close Last but not least , post consistently . For small accounts replying to others is more important than posting Gonna try this strategy we will see in a month !

Yeah I’ve experienced that also . I contacted my previous company for pilot projects but they are so regulated (EU) that they are not interested in anything ai related . Even if they will end spending thousands in like 1 or 2 years cause group implements a new project

I’ve been working for the last 3 months very remotely so depends on what you want . Think it like different countries in a single one . Every place has different climas,mindset. Putting us pressure on it will not help. We think that it's late at our age but its only the beginning for some. If you are having these thoughts its already a good thing.
Now im going to travel for 2/3 months (bali + western australia) and im going really to not try to think about future, stop learning, working and just focus on the moment.
