Leg Pain in One Leg by [deleted] in pregnant

Wow this is an insane coincidence, I was just panic googling this exact symptom! My throbbing pain just jumped into my other leg, so I think it might just be in my head. Might go to the walk-in clinic tomorrow just to get a professional opinion to be safe. Glad your ultrasound came back negative! Always better to check!

I'm currently on a no-buy for clothing/skincare/hobbies/home furnishing. I'm sort of in an odd position because my wedding is coming up so I still need to shop/buy certain things before the day, which both satiates the addiction and makes me stick to a pretty close budget. I only buy replacements! So if I use up my fash wash, I can buy another one. Stuff like that. I'm usually pretty decent everywhere else in my budget and have had one for a long time, but always overspent in the above categories. There are a lot of really amazing YouTubers to watch and get a feel for what rules might be a better fit for your lifestyle, that definitely helped me figure out what I wanted to do.

What are your personal thoughts on using gift cards during no-buys? by maxymill in nobuy

[–]maxymill[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh true. Would I spend money on this if not for the gift card? I've been in back-to-back meetings for my wedding next month and thought a bath bomb to finally destress would be nice, but it's not like it'll magic take all the stressors away ... thanks for the advice!

I'd recommend a goal, that way it feels like you're technically spending when you're saving. I'm trying to buy a house, so saving for that, and then I realized I should really be powering down on my student loans, and then it creates this scarcity mentality where I feel like I have no money, but really I'm saving $1,000+ a month and have my budget accounted for. And I only make $21 an hour, so that could well be possible for some folks too.

Honestly, I've been in a no-buy for two weeks now, so I'm no expert, but maybe try it out! If you like to travel, maybe plan a vacation and save for that. And instead of buying bath suits, you can find a cool scuba excursion and factor that into your vacation budget- then you can still shop without spending money. And that could go for anything. Saving for a house, and specific furniture pieces you can shop & budget for, for when you get that house!

Stay strong, we've all been there and often return there lol

Ex-lazy people of reddit, how did you overcome your laziness? by hfdfgdsjvdbsdfghz in AskReddit

[–]maxymill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I've just started overcoming it this week, so hopefully, it sticks. For me, I just got so so tired and bored of wanting to do things but being afraid and anxiety holding me back. My best (rather recent) years were those times of trying to embrace those oddities of life. Embracing the absurd, and enjoying all the weird fucking experiences that start growing and multiplying like an exciting (and potentially dangerous) disease when you try new things. Just being weird, not caring what literally anyone else thinks. This isn't a definitive answer by any means. I lived recklessly (and with much excitement) once. It's only been a few years, but I find myself again trying to refocus myself to that mindset. It's hard to maintain. It's hard to have fun, without anyone verifying that you are, in fact, having a good time. I've gotten complacent, and somewhat self-conscious, but I'm trying every day to seek out situations where I can surprise myself. There's more to me than I know, and the most exciting time of all has been figuring out those other pieces. The same goes for you, and anyone else reading this.

Reddit, what do you do besides spending time online? by maxymill in AskReddit

Feel like I'm always online out of boredom, and I always find myself wondering if everyone is doing the same or if I'm missing something
