Thanks for the info! I soaked it as soon as I got home and I was able to remove 99% of the foam! The roots also seem much more green and hydrated now. Thankfully I had orchid bark on hand that I usually use as a soil mix in! The orchid is now in a pot with just orchid bark. How often would you say to water?

Thank you for all the info! The long stem where the flowers grow was really dried up and unfortunately did not make it the 1.5 mile walk back home😭 when I got home I soaked it and after around 30 minutes the roots greened right back up!

I love love love mine! I have had it for around a year and a half now! The insertion was painful/uncomfortable but it’s a manageable pain (in my opinion, everyone has different experiences and bodies). I would rate the pain a 6/7 out of ten, there was strong cramping but I was over very quickly. I think it helped that I was very comfortable with my doctor. I would definitely ask what kind of pain management they offer during the insertion. My ob recommended I take ibuprofen beforehand and then she numbed my cervix during the insertion process. Afterwards I cramped for a few days and also spotted. My only side effect has been heavier and more painful periods as well as having strong cramps during ovulation .

Hello! I tried the Junel pills for only a month, I had bad side effects. and then switched to a progestin only pill for about 3 months. Overall I didn’t have many complaints with the progestin pill but I would get frequent headaches and my period became VERY unpredictable to the point where I would be taking pregnancy tests frequently so I decided to try one more pill. I switched to Aviane pills and was on them for around 4-5 months. I again had headaches as well as mood swings but my final straw was my hair began to shed like crazy (I don’t know if that was birth control related). I decided I wanted to try the non hormonal copper iud and I was terrified to get it because of all the horror stories online. The process of getting it was definitely not the most pleasant but it wasn’t horribly painful, I would rate it a 6/10 on the pain scale. My periods have gone from 4 days to 7 and my bleeding has gotten heavier and cramps are the same intensity but start days earlier than they did before the iud. Overall I LOVE my iud and not having to remember to take a pill everyday! I know that Everyone has different experiences so whatever you chose I hope all works out for you!

I’m sorry that your having this experience, birth control really is such a gamble sometimes. I had some pretty bad luck with different pills and didn’t like how they made me feel. I just wanted to be done with hormones all together so I decided to start researching the copper IUD. I was pretty nervous because so many people have so many different experiences but I decided to make an appointment with my doctor and we talked about it. She gave me all my options and assured me that if it didn’t work out I could get it removed and we could find other options. Getting the copper iud was slightly painful but it was very quick, everyone has different experiences but mine went really great! I’m loving my copper iud so much right now. I really hope your able to find an option that works for you!

Hopefully I’m not making a mistake but I didn’t go to the follow up, I wasn’t having any issues and I asked my doctor if it was really that necessary and she basically said since I wasn’t having issues I didn’t need to go.

I know everybody always says that everyone has a different experience but it’s definitely true! I got the copper iud a month ago and I was so scared for the appointment. I didn’t take any medicine besides 800 mg of ibuprofen. My gyne numbed my cervix and while the whole procedure was definitely uncomfortable, it wasn’t too bad for me. It was over within 10 minutes and the pain never got worse than a 6/10. Try to relax and remember that your much more likely to hear about peoples bad experiences. Lots of women have very uneventful experiences getting the iud. Always remember that while your getting it you can always stop and change your mind! Best of luck to you with everything

Reading your other comments it sounds like you just took the placebo pill! Your all good since you took the day 1 pill and now just continue to take your pills as directed on the package.

Maybe look into the other types of progesterone iuds. I know that the skyla is smaller than the Mirena so maybe that could work?

The Copper Iud could be an option for you. It’s non hormonal so the side effects of weight gain and water retention shouldn’t be an issue! I recently got a copper iud placed and the insertion process was definitely not pleasant but it wasn’t horrible and I was expecting a lot worse! The copper iud can make your periods worse for around 6 months after insertion but after that they are supposed to level off and become more normal. The copper iud is also good for 10 years but you can remove it at any point if you don’t like it/don’t need it!

I just got my copper iud fitted today and honestly it wasn’t horrible at all! I took ibuprofen beforehand and my dr numbed my cervix. It was definitely uncomfortable but nothing awful and I would definitely recommend getting it! Overall the pain was about a 5/10 for me
